Male's QB definitely fits the bill.

So they controlled Lafayette, but not Male. For argument sake, lets say Ridder is playing a good game, what will T's defense have to do to contain Ridder?

As much of a dual threat as Male's QB might be, he actually had a great night picking us apart from the pocket and handing off to Gentry/RB. He only took off a few times and it wasn't too harmful.

 

On the other hand, Wood from Lafayette ran around all night outside of the pocket and from one sideline to the other. It didn't work out too well.

 

If you want to compare, Male played a much more traditional pocket passing game and didnt have the need to showcase QB scrambling abilities. Although the QB can move, they were perfectly comfortable in the pocket.

 

I think the Rocks look forward to the potential of a running QB. In a game like this, especially from the Trinity perspective, I assure you the guys want the QB to run!!

Was wondering what the T and X fans thought about this perspective:

 

I understand anytime these 2 play it's a big game, but the regular season game seems to have MUCH more of a Fans/Alumni returning/pep rally/dances/OTHER items associated with it compared to the potential 2nd meeting of the season in the playoffs, which is mostly just hard-nosed Football against a bitter rival.

 

With this being said, do you feel the underdog has more of an advantage in the first game as they know if they show up unfocused they will get embarrassed and clearly don't want that so they are more focused. Where as the favorite may tend to take in a little more of the festivities and even though both are very well coached these are still teen age high school students.

 

I'm not saying it's exactly how it always plays out every time, but would seem to have merit with seasons like last year. Just curious how rivalry games play out when one of the teams are supposed to be superior to the other in a year and the suggested "inferior" team wins.

Hard game to decide the score because you don't know what Saint X team will show up. Taking the safe bet with Trinity by 7!

I would dare say that Male's supporting cast is better than X so it will take more than just Ridder to beat the Rocks

IMO, the rivalry is changing because the programs are different than they were even 5-6 years ago. Trinity has a philosophy and X does too. Differences causing fans to not be as engaged or involved.

 

Tigers need to have mistake free game and run football.
