Nicholas County travels to Bishop Brossart to kick off district play. This is the first meeting between the two teams who do you think wins and why?

Brossart is on a roll like they have never experienced in their short lived program. I like the effort put up by BBHS, with many players going both ways. Having said that I think the challenge this week is "how tough is Brossart". A bye week has likely helped the overall health of the team from a nick and bruise perspective.

I take Brossart in this one based on sheer determination (and good athletic talent). If the running backs for BBHS can get on track, then I like this game to be decided by a touchdown, with no one scoring more than about 3 TD's a side.

This might be a tough one for Brossart, but they are at home, so Brossart wins a close one.

Where does Brossart play their home games?

Where does Brossart play their home games?

Campbell County Middle School

Brossart should win and probably win easy. Nicholas Co has been routed by both teams they have played that are average. Brossart can only play who is on the schedule, but outside of Paris and Ludlow they do not have any games against teams that are going to win many games.

I look for this to be a pretty evenly matched game. This may be the game Nicholas wins and there not supposed to. Be a good matchup Fri night.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, your #10 team in 1A is Bishop Brossart! What a story this team is. From the brink of ending a football program to a ranked team. Brossart fans claimed they needed to get into 1A to compete and they are doing that and more this year. Now, Brossart comes into their first district game in their new 1A district as a ranked team. This is a big game for both teams. This is a pick'em game. Nicholas County is 3-2 and will be Brossart's toughest opponent to date. Both teams are fighting for a big win that will help them get home field advantage in the playoffs.

We need a full scouting report on this one. Brossart has a dynamic duo on offense in QB Craig Pfefferman and WR Frank Cetrulo. Nicholas County counters with one of the leading rushers in 1A, Zach Richardson. Is this a game of Brossart's passing attack versus Nicholas County's rushing attack? How does each team's defense stack up against this week's opponent's offensive strength? What do you expect in this one?

This will test brossart for their first district game in 1A football this year, close game but brossart comes out on top. 28-21 brossart

Nicholas is better than anyone that Brossart has played. This is a very evenly matched football game.

Friday night has been designated "Win For Wes" Night. Wesley,(parents are Tim & Amy (Neltner) Dunn is 7 years old and goes to St. Philip's school - a Brossart feeder. On November 15, 2014 he was diagnosed with a Medulloblastoma brain tumor. The tumor was successfully removed five days later, followed by two months of radiation treatments at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He has been going through aggressive chemo treatments at Cincinnati Children's Hospital since February and hopefully will have his last treatment in January 2016. Wes and his twin brother Will, just started the 2nd grade this year. What Wes and his entire family have gone through the last year is heartbreaking. But seeing their strength, positive attitude, love and Faith is amazing!!

His cousin, Chase Keller, and our team captains, (Nathan See, Logan Schoulthies, Frank Cetrulo, Craig Pfefferman and Griffin Goepper) went to St. Philip's school on Monday and asked Wes to be "Honorary Team Captain" for our game on Friday!! Wes (and his twin brother Will) were given game jersies, will walk with the team to the game, go out for the coin toss and stay on the sidelines for the game. Wes and Will will both be invited to come to the Thursday practice and the Team Dinner.

There will also be bracelets sold this week at school. They read "#winforwes" on the front and "beat childhood cancer" on the back. The bracelets will be sold to the students at school for $1. At the game it will be a "donation" for a bracelet. With September being "Childhood Cancer Awareness" ALL FUNDS will be donated to Childhood Cancer Awareness Fund.

The "student section" theme for the night will be "Super Hero" with the students having a "W" on them. Great gesture on our guys part.
