Worst Thing A Coach Forced/Asked You To Do?

Featured Replies

Sr. year, coach made me run for about a half hour without stopping because I was 2 minutes late for baseball practice.

BTW, NO ONE was ever late for practice after that. :lol2:

My coach would have called that a "warm-up"...

Not on my team but of a school we played every year. The guys talk about how their coach said before every game if they weren't willing to injure other teams players , as in take them out of the game, they couldn't play for him. Big difference between playing hard nose football where injuries happen and actually having coach tell them to take people out. I think most people who played in HS have been thru the run till we puke days in 100 degrees.

"D" league Knothole baseball. The coach did not like me. My turn to bat came up and he told me that I didn't need a helmet. He was pitching and threw at my head several times...hit me square on the temple once. Forced me to quit. I never had a desire to play hardball baseball at any level after that.

That's absolutely terrible at any age, but D League?!?!

On a very hot an humid night I saw a Head Coach take the varsity to the practice field and make the varsity run gassers after playing 3 qtrs of a scrimmage. While the JVs played the fourth Qtr the Varsity ran the entire quarter in full pads and head gear. Our varsity kids were sitting there with their pads off drinking Gatorade and just shaking their heads.

My dad was our little league baseball coach and we had a player that would jump out of the box on every pitch. He was afraid of the ball. He told the kid on his next at bat he didn't care where the ball was, don't move your feet. Kid gets hit in the head on the first pitch. My dad feels bad to this day and that was 35 years ago.

My sophomore year playing JV football, our coach made us run sprints at halftime because we weren't playing very well.

It's not a thread. I've been following it from the parents on Facebook. I'm not sure if things like that are allowed to be mentioned on here since it's allegations from parents vs. a high school.

You just need to put it in the right thread -- likely in the "Controversial Issues" forum -- where it is Premium Members only & with the permission of a mod or two.

I posted link above. It might deserve a thread of its own though.

Nothing really comes to mind. Pretty normal stuff really.

Same here. I've been racking my brain for the past two days and can't come up with anything that is extreme.

Worst thing is when my football coach asked me to come out of a game.

I have also seen a football coach "punish" a player by having him take a hit from every other player on the team (lined up in a row, one after the other).

Aka, the Oklahoma Drill.
