Does anyone know exactly what the coach said? On Mike and Mike this morning they seemed to imply that the coach said, "he needs to pay" and others are saying that he told the players to "take him out". Does anyone know what was said? I think it makes a difference.

 

I think the racial slurs thing is false and straight out of Friday Night Lights. Especially since a coach and what he said and why is being brought into the equation.

Kids are suspended from school kicked off the team and the coach fired heard this on radio today. Investigation continues in racial slurs.

Unless the ref admits he said the racial slurs I don't know how they'll be able to prove he said anything. No way he admits to saying anything racially insensitive.

 

Coach being fired also leads me to believe he is the one who said something crazy. Not the ref.

All Tell said he should be permanently barred from ever playing again. While I agree with that sentiment about the other 2. This guy just needs a couple game suspension. He acted in the head of the moment and shoved an official. It is bad and deserves punishment, but you can't compare this to the other in terms of how badly he should be punished. It is an apples vs. oranges scenario.

I'm not comparing he 2. In the first incident the players should have been perp walked off the field in hand cuffs AND banned from ever playing again. If you lay hands on an official EVER you should not play again. I don't buy the heat of the moment justification. If you're so hot headed that you can't control yourself enough to keep from putting hands on an official then you're way to emotional to play sports.

 

Way to many officials in all sports have been seriously injured or killed by "heat of the moment" incidents recently to not harshly punish the offenders.
