I am pulling for CCH here, but their defense is terrible and the offense is struggling. I think LexCath wins by a couple of TDs

 

Lexington Catholic's skill players are a bad bunch to go against if your D has trouble.

I believe Lex Cath's normal starter is UK's DLine coaches son. If there is one thing Lex Cath always has is a very good QB, I don't think he holds a candle to any of those prior, has he gotten better since his Henry Clay days, yes, but just never thought he was the mold for a Catholic QB.

CovCath's secondary has to play well, and the line has to give the young QB time to see the field and get comfortable in the pocket. If CovCath can do those things, we will win.

Mix up the game plan. Leverage the run game and use both backs - maybe even use some two back sets. That will take some pressure off the QB(s). Get Andy Thompson involved in the offense more.

 

Defensively - stop the run. JC had 453 yards rushing.

 

The coaches will hae to adjust as the game goes on. It sounds like CovCath may not be a full strength and the Knights need to figure out where the opportunities are while the game is in progress and adjust - on both sides of the ball.

Any QB who has to learn and run a spread offense in 3 games is not going to look like an all star. That is a given. The previous LexCath quarter backs were brought in the spread back to the middle school days. Getting comfortable with reads and check-downs in a full spread, empty backfield offense is not easy.

Against JC Brumbaugh was 14 for 24 and Fagot was 4 - 7, both good percetanges. But the 14 resulted in 102 yards and the 4 resulted in 110 yards.

Lex cath runs the fade or slant and go (slugo). They win. Still asking why they didn't do this the 2nd half against Ryle

I have seen both first hand and would have to say this: CCH has gotten beat by better skill players the first three weeks. No disrespect to CCH but Lex Cath is no different. They have the better skill players and will be a handful for CCH. That being said, CCH may pose some problems up front and are a little more physical. I think CCH will pull it together this season but maybe not in this one. I would give the edge to Lex Cath although this has the makings of a good one because both teams are a little desperate to start to get things going in the right direction.
