Obviously Coopers win over NCC and HHS are suddenly not that impressive. It's a little different playing teams in your own class. I 'm not a Cooper fan and I'm not a Cooper hater. Cooper has lot's of quality opponents to play, good luck with that.

 

Trinity scored 70 tonight and was very impressive. Bowling Green got hammered by X. Highlands got blown out by SC? I don't know but I think hell froze over.

You may say un-impressive, but any time you beat a highland team, it's impressive. They are the NKY epitome of a football program. I don't care if their talent level is down. Kids go to that school just to be a part of the football tradition, so that is an impressive win to beat the Bluebirds for a district locked program. Cooper should already know that 6A is a different level, as Highlands an CC is learning that 5A is a different level. It all boils down to personnel and game plan, if you've got both, you will be at the top of any division.

Thanks Cooperdad! You pointed out the obvious with you know who! Tonight was a rough night for the Jags, but now everyone is going to say they are overrated and not as good as publicized. That's fine, it's week 3, who knows what can happen, Right? You don't have to win em all, just win when it really counts, which one Independence NKY 6A team is still trying to figure out.

Cooper couldn't get anything started, the line for BS held (sometimes literally) and they were able to run where they wanted. Little bit of a wake up call, but we will regroup and be back at it. Rather take our lumps now and learn from them then go undefeated and have false hope come playoffs.

 

By the way the lightning game call was due to the lights exploding, no way Coach Borchers risks safety with glass all over the field.

6A is a whole different level of numerical talent. Cooper just doesn't have the numbers yet in a "football" aspect. Now, if they can get some of those Golf, Baseball, Bowling, and Basketball players to play, it would be a bit different. All the boys can do is play where they are placed, and do their best. Play to get to the next level after high school, and 6A does that, but Cooper has to have a better showing than what they had tonight. Boone had the opportunity to drop to 5A this year and passed on it. According to the KHSAA Boone County is playing up this year. Of course, that decision is ten times stupider than the Cooper decision but I assume it was all the same idiot within the Boone County school system that made the decision for everyone. Throw Conner in there too, just like Cooper they requested to play up.

It's official, all the Cooper players saw this thread and are now quitting to go join the bowling team. Superbowl in Erlanger will be tough to get into for the next couple weeks....and still the only competition there will be Boone County High School, as they started bowling 4 years ago.
