Central Hardin 48 Paducah Tilghman 25

Featured Replies

Darious Barbour had 268 yards rushing and 4 TDs and was in a zone you don't see that often, where everything clicks.

Central Hardin can play with most teams in the state when the offense is clicking and the defense forces the offense out of their comfort zone.

The problem with playing in 6A is and has always been the perceived unfairness of having to play against the private Louisville schools in the playoffs (Trinity, ST Xavier), and the advantage they bring to the class.

Male and Manual seem to be just fine. That advantage is more mental than anything else. Seems like Trinity and St. X already have you beat. If BG beats St. X I guess you may as well chalk the BG game up as a loss also.

I just saw the huge talent disparity last year in the Meade County vs Trinity game. Meade had a solid defense all year, defeated Scott County then was over matched in the semis vs Trinity.

Last I saw all KHSAA member schools operate under the same rules. If you have proof that any school(public or private) is breaking the rules they agree to play by then you should turn them in so they can be punished. Otherwise it is all innuendo and speculation.

Are you suggesting CH believes that, even in what might be their best year, they can't get past a T/X no matter what?

Check it out, I went to see Trinity vs Ensworth, have been to Both Central Hardin Games. I am not such a homer that I am delirious. This might be Central Hardin's best team ever but Trinity looks untouchable this year. I do know what I am talking about.

So you are saying as a private school, they can't recruit? They can actually bring in out of county "students"! Right?

Yes. Private schools cannot recruit players to their schools just like public schools can't.

No. They cannot bring in any players through recruiting.

I am also saying if you have proof that a school is recruiting then turn them in to the KHSAA. Private schools and public schools that are KHSAA members are not allowed to actively recruit players to their schools. If you know a school is cheating then turn in that proof of their wrong doings so they can be dealt with. Otherwise you are making baseless claims against schools and IMO that is just as wrong as recruiting.

Good win for CH! Established the run. Should be a common theme for them all year.

Tilghman likely got worn down, but not many 3A teams have CH size and depth

I would actually argue this may not be exactly true

Central has nice size and fully platoons.

LexCath has plenty of depth and good size.

Caldwell County has a massive roster.

Corbin matches size and depth, just not the skill players of a CH.

Russell the same could be said as Corbin.

Belfry I would argue probably is bigger, just as deep, and just as talented as CH. Belfry averages 6'2 280 across their starting Oline and has one of the best DLines in the state.

I would argue the reason PT has not been able to sustain success of reaching Bowling Green outside of 2009 in 3A has had a lot to do with their lack of size and depth. Central, Wayne County, Monroe County, and South Warren have all eliminated Tilghman after winning the battle in the trenches.

Love how you qualify your statement by saying "actively recruit players" ...there are different ways to get players to schools both public and private it's just private has more resources. This is my opinion as an individual and does not reflect any institution public or private. Good enough disclaimer?

I honestly wasn't trying to qualify anything. Schools aren't allowed to recruit kids for sports. Private or public. I don't know any other way to say it.

My opinion is that schools don't recruit like people make them out to. If I lived in Louisville my kids(basketball players) would go to Trinity or St. X. CAL would be an option also. If I lived in Lexington they'd go to LexCath or LCA. If I lived in NKY they'd be at CovCath or Highlands. NCC is a possibility also. If I lived in Bowling Green they'd be Purples. If we lived in Hoptown they'd go to Hoptown or Christian County. If I lived in Paducah it would be Tilghman or McCracken County. EKY, they'd go whatever county school we lived in. We live in Danville and my kids attend Boyle County.

My point in all of that is that I feel like most families are like mine. They know where they want their kids to attend school beforehand and where they choose to live has little effect on their school choice. Are there some funny transfers in sports every year? Absolutely. For a large majority of those transfers I highly doubt that schools are recruiting those athletes on the move.

You are putting false information on BGP again, your first try was deleted.

All schools have exactly the same ability to bring in student-athletes in from "out of districts and/or out of their area." In other words, public schools and independent schools have exactly the same abilities that privates schools have. Get your facts straight. And if you have any knowledge of any school in violation of the KHSAA rules please report them directly to the KHSAA.

It don't see how recruiting for them would be possible. The absolute maximum financial aid you can receive at Trinity only covers half the tuition. That's still a few thousand every year to send a student to Trinity. Student athletes choose to go there and their parents choose to pay because it is a school of strong academics and strong athletics.

I lived out of county, but chose to go there because I felt it was the school for me and my parents supported that decision. I never played any sports there, but I had friends that did, and I know for a fact they were never recruited.

ATL, you are right on these, my bad!

No where did I put false information on BGP. This is a discussion forum right? I stated an opinion and then even went so far as to say this is my opinion. So, educate me! Transfer rules pertain to private schools? Tuition(scholarship) whether full or partial is offered by public schools? I'm curious as to all. I'm not being difficult, I want to be informed so I know the difference between public and private. I enjoy these forums btw.
