It don't see how recruiting for them would be possible. The absolute maximum financial aid you can receive at Trinity only covers half the tuition. That's still a few thousand every year to send a student to Trinity. Student athletes choose to go there and their parents choose to pay because it is a school of strong academics and strong athletics.

I lived out of county, but chose to go there because I felt it was the school for me and my parents supported that decision. I never played any sports there, but I had friends that did, and I know for a fact they were never recruited.

There is no 50% cap on tuition assistance. The financial aid is based on the financial need of the family. I am aware of one family that receives 80%. They deserve it. Their child is not an athlete. $2.5 million in financial assistance last year at Rock Heaven.

Jslim: It varies from county to county, but many districts have agreements that allow students to attend schools outside their "district". I know one guy's family paid tuition for him to attend Bowling Green after they moved out of the city limits. I know of several kids who paid to attend Ballard that live in Oldham County. The Guru is right. If you want to attend a particular school, in most cases, you can gain entrance into that school.

I understand Trinity accepted 35 transfers this year. To my knowledge, not one of them plays football. Trinity also lost students who transferred. One is the starting varsity QB at a neighboring school. There are more than a couple at Ballard. It is all good. My understanding is if you transfer from Trinity, unless you owe tuition/fees or there was a big discipline problem, you will be declared immediately eligible at a new school. Trinity will not fight you.

One RB left Trinity after he appeared in varsity games and started varsity the next week at a different school. I believe the reason was for "financial hardship".

Didn't mean to hijack this thread about Central Hardin and Paducah Tilghman.

I shutter to think how good McCracken County would be if Tilghman had elected to join them. This was a huge win for Central Hardin.

No where did I put false information on BGP. This is a discussion forum right? I stated an opinion and then even went so far as to say this is my opinion. So, educate me! Transfer rules pertain to private schools? Tuition(scholarship) whether full or partial is offered by public schools? I'm curious as to all. I'm not being difficult, I want to be informed so I know the difference between public and private. I enjoy these forums btw.

According to the KHSAA there are no differences.

Very interesting information.

It just seems that "rules" aren't consistent when it comes to the public/private debate.

If it is a foul the 1st minute of the game it should still be a foul with a tie game with 1 second left. Meaning rules are rules no matter the participants.
