September 2, 201511 yr Can you guys in NKY pick up the station out of Lexington or Cynthiana? I listen to WLAP. From what I am told his show will not be in Cincinnati anytime soon.
September 2, 201511 yr I listen to WLAP. From what I am told his show will not be in Cincinnati anytime soon. Looks like WLAP covers NKY pretty well. Seeing this map I think they probably do reach close to 90% of the state.
September 2, 201511 yr Yeah the Cincy thing has fallen through a couple of times according to what he's said on the show.
September 2, 201511 yr You would think that if there was a station in Independence they would try to pick up the show...a lot of NKY Ad revenue just sitting there waiting for someone.
September 2, 201511 yr From what I am told his show will not be in Cincinnati anytime soon. It would almost have to be out of Cincinnati, wouldn't it?
September 2, 201511 yr If he leaves the show will die quickly. The supporting cast is just that - supporting. None of them can carry the load. The only possibility is maybe Drew Franklin. He is very witty, but pretty dry. He might be able grow into the role, but he would need time. I told a friend sometime ago, long before the congress opportunity, that if Matt wants to grow the KSR bigger than his personal reach, then he needs personalities beyond himself that can carry the brand. Maybe Matt (or his ego) doesn't want this. It certainly hasn't been a direction he has sought out.
September 2, 201511 yr We (NKY) can get WLAP during the day, but it is really weak at night, which is opposite of how I thought AM radio signals traveled. My guess is that most NKY fans either listen on I heart or the podcast. Knowing little about the business, but I would think the program would be cheap and profitable for a local station with a decent signal.

He is very witty, but pretty dry. He might be able grow into the role, but he would need time. Their mantra has long been to present UK sports in "the most ridiculous manner possible." Drew is the only one who can do that (other than Matt), but he's really best-suited to be Robin to Matt's Batman. I think the show is a lot better when he's the co-host. I like Ryan, but Drew is a lot funnier. And I like funny.
September 2, 201511 yr He wants that to be Jared... I like Jared a lot and Jared is a good guy, but I am not sure he can carry it.

September 2, 201511 yr Author No one can replace Jones on the radio. He leaves and radio is toast. Doesn't matter who goes in the chair because the show is about him, not the information he delivers.
