South Warren dismantled the preseason #3 team in 4A. That's how.

You're missing the point. How do we know Johnson Central wouldn't have done the same thing, we haven't seen them yet. lol

i would take the first game of the season with a grain of salt for anyone saying South Warren is going to cake walk through AAAA. A lot can happen from now till Nov. and we are not sure John Hardin is the team we all thought they would be.

South could be the best team in the class, but 1 good game or one bad game in Aug. doesn't hold a lot of weight in my book.

Could be an entertaining season in AAAA for sure though.

Rankings should be earned. Not assumed. Johnson Central is #1 over South Warren over the assumption that they would do the same thing to John Hardin.

I agree 100%. I'd bump JC down and in all honesty it wouldn't bother me a bit to not see them ranked at all.

Lol, all pre-season ranking are on assumption, and Johnson Central was number one, this week Johnson Central still hasn't proven anything, or disproven anything, they haven't played a game yet.

SW is a great team, and I love their offensive scheme. Their passing game was suspect Saturday, but their running is on point. They have a atheletic QB and a Mr. do it all in Mcelwain. I love the wildcat they run him out of. I think they are by far the #1 team in 4A at this point based on talent and returnees only. We need to be careful relating their #1 status to the JH game. JH was horrible without a lot of help from SW. I witnessed a very undisplined team, and for the most part a very uncoachable team. The players were coming off the field throwing their helmets and acting very immature and the coaches weren't trying to correct it. It was almost like they expected it. If JH is to do anything, they will need to get their attitudes in check. That being said SW is the real deal. If they get their passing game going they will be almost impossible to beat.

No argument there. Just giving my perspective on last week's results. I didn't see South Warren defeating #3 John Hardin the way they did. I also felt going into the preseason that South Warren was the #1 team in 4A but preseason rankings are way too hard to justify. After seeing what South Warren did I can't help but feel like the are the best team in 4A right now.

Get John Hardin out of the top 10. No discipline, no heart, and no pride. I could go on but I won't.

Scrimmages are scrimmages but from what I gather Johnson Central has looked pretty good in their two scrimmages against quality competition. Beat a very good Cabell Midland, WV and crushed a Portsmouth West, OH team with pretty lofty expectations.

I also could see the argument in favor of South Warren...especially if Johnson Central looks anything short of dominant in their season debut.

I agree with that logic. JC is an unknown at this point due to not playing yet. It's hard to base much on scrimmages but the two teams JC scrimmaged are great programs and rarely ever field a mediocre team. Also, I believe South Warren is the real deal, but how good John Hardin is a bit unknown right now, given responses from the SW/JH game thread, they seem to have some serious problems.

All in all its too early to tell who is the best, IMO. I think we need to let everyone play a few games before moving JC out if the number 1 spot just because they haven't played a game yet. After all Ashland is an unknown at the moment too, but moved up a spot after being idle last weekend.

Rankings are someone elses opinion. Threy really don't mean much. They are just boasting material for the parents.

I look at the top 5 from last week and FS won last week and dropped a spot and a team that got demorlized fell, but stayed in the top 10. JH isn't top ten material. SW should be #1 based on games played and not just speculation. They are the best team that has played. There is my opinions. EVERYBODY has one!!!

The main problem I see with that is that if John Hardin is not top ten material, then why boost South Warren to the top spot? And if next week, when Johnson Central actually plays, they win by 45-60 points while South Warren beats Apollo senseless as well, aren't we still just giving it to South Warren based solely on the fact that they happened to play while Johnson Central was idle?

T-Cats, I haven't heard any results from Ashland's scrimmage against Wayne. Did they play this game? If not, how come? Wayne is traditionally about as solid of a 2A team from WV.
