Is this the coach chappel who was an assistant at Madison Central?

Yes, but not recently. I think he was at MC around 1999-2000 when he first started coaching.

Chappell was an Assistant at Madison Central in 2000 and 2001 before being an Assistant at Tates Creek for one year in 2002, then taking on the PCC job in 2003.

I've heard almost as many conspiracy theories regarding this hire as I have about JFK's assaination, but, as another poster said, it's a moot point now.

Good Luck to Coach Chappell, and his SL team. I'm sure the young men are excited to have a new coach in place. With Chappell supposedly being pass-happy, is there any word on who the SL QB will be next season?

Not sure, probably O'Neill if he chooses to play. I understand that Bowling is headed to Alabama.

I thought he was I just wasn't sure.

I have had a recent conversation with Coach Mark Scenters. He wished Coach Chappell and South Laurel the best of luck.

He was dissappointed not getting the job and wanted thank all of the people who supported him during this process. He also feels that it just wasn't his time and that the Lord just wanted him to be at Madison Central just a little bit longer.

His time will come.

I agree 110%. Mark is going to make someone a GREAT head coach and his time is coming! :thumb:

You are right. I think it will be sooner than later.

Dave Chappell, I love his show. I don't know if he knows football but i bet the kids will be laughing their tails off.

Thought his name was Jason.

Best of luck to Coach Chappel. The SL fans need to get behind him.

I'm looking forward to meeting him.

I think they will. They will like this guy's energy. He never stops moving on the sidelines. A fiery competitor and I think the kids will feed off of this.

Is this the same coach that was at North oldham and Oldham county when Jackson was there.

Coach Chappell is a great young coach with tons of enthusiasm and a great knowledge of the game. Now that he is finally working with more talent and a little bit of support from his schools administration, he will continue the recent string of success for the Cards.

His name is Jason

Good luck to the new coach:thumb:

NO, you are thinking of Beno Chappell. He is currently at South Oldham. He is the Offensive Line and Strength Coach. He is doing a great job at both.

The new coach at South Laurel is Jason Chappell (no relation I don't think). Jason has coached at Madison Central, Tates Creek and most recently was the head coach at Perry Co. Central.
