I don't believe you are correct, HB, when you say he "had" to turn it over. They did request it but they had no legal right to it.

If the NFL is interested in texts sent to the equipment guys couldn't they request (not demand) the phones from those guys?

If I were Brady, and the league really offered me 1 game if I admitted to being aware of it, and not cooperating, I'd have taken the deal. Why? Because no one gives a crap about PSI levels of footballs. No one with a brain thinks it would impact your legacy.

IT doesn't matter if Brady is fine with the outcome and this outcome and decision implicates Brady to at least having knowledge of the situation.

 

You are right that he didn't have to turn over the phone, but you are wrong when you say perception shouldn't matter. It matters a lot if you are trying to prove your innocence and all he had to do to prove that was turn over his phone and cooperate fully.

 

It simply comes down to this, if I was being accused of something that I said I didn't do then to clear my name I would turn over my phone if it meant clearing my name. Simple as that.

That's what I said and what I've said all along. I said he didn't have to turn it over because it wasn't a criminal investigation. IF I said HE HAD to then that was a typo. I've said all along he didn't because it wasn't a criminal case.

under inflated balls will not affect his legacy. Cheating however will and he will always wear that banner.

I don't think this will have any impact on Brady's legacy. People simply do not care about an underinflated football or a coverup. I think most of the fans look at this whole issue as "fake drama" for the NFL. It's silly.
