Women and blacks had to prove intellectual capability and had to earn their right to vote. You're not necessarily wrong, but take a step back and think about that statement, then think about your argument. It's messed up that they weren't given that right all along, and it's messed up that people had the gall to fight against them having that right at one point in time. I really hate singling you out, but the whole slippery slope argument you are begging for is so lazy. Are we as a society really so incapable of recognizing nuances or going to such extremes. Literally no one said there wouldn't be nutjobs, but people continue to state why humans marrying animals is so absurd. They are not the same. Now I know 50 years ago the thought of members of the same sex marrying would seem impossible, but two men or two women wanting to join in a union has a lot more in common with a man and woman who want to do the same than animals, relatives, or a group of any or all of those things. If you can't see the difference, I don't know if I can help you.

However, I do see the door open to polygamy because the adults can consent.
