Based on early reports and 7 on 7's, it would appear the QB job is Padgett's to lose. That said, anything is possible. As for the WRs, look for big seasons out of Buckler and Nyers (who played on one leg the last few games of 2014). I think Ebarb is capable of having a Cameron Fogle type of a year. Kid is going to be doing it all.

From what I hear they plan on passing more this year.. The biggest issue they are going to battle is depth.. They have a smaller squad then what they have fielded the last few years. Some of they're best athletes are not playing football unfortunately. Also the class of 2016 in whole at Scott is very small compared to other classes... That being said it should be a very exciting year in The Mill

That being said the 2017 class is even smaller . The majority of the roster is made up of 12th graders and 10th graders . Nice group to watch , the athletes they do have compliment each other well . Look to see them do well again this season !!

Isiah looked very good during the Conner-Glen Este-Dixie Heights 7-on-7 at Dixie on Wednesday. Will do well on both sides of the ball. Going to be a lot of fun to watch with the exception of having to prepare for him.

It has nothing to do with the football program. Scott has lost several guys to other sports. For example, Jake Ohmer is a high level basketball and baseball player, that has devoted his time to those two sports. There are several other basketball players that have given up football, and one other solid kid this year that has decided to focus on wrestling. All these guys while good football players, have a solid chance to continue at the next level in those other sports. In reality, it's not like there are bunches of kids that have walked away from the program, and the hallways aren't crawling with kids that would make a big impact on the football team. You also have to remember, Scott has had a very good Soccer program over the last 7-8 years, and has very good numbers....so some of those very good athletes have never played football. That combined with the drop in enrollment, limits the number of kids available to play football. The Taylor Mill Eagles have only been around for 5 years now, and none of the current classes at Scott spent more than a year or two in that organization...the sophomore class was the inaugural class. The kids that have grown up in the organization are just now in Middle School, and hopefully we will see the impact in numbers over the next 2-3 years as those kids enter Scott.

 

Scott Football is still in the very early stages of revival. Building a program from where it was takes more than a couple of years. This year is a key year, as they return more talent than they've ever had, and have stepped up the schedule pretty significantly. A district title and a playoff win or two would be a nice, solid next step in the evolution, and if everything goes really well, a deep playoff run (which is possible) could really set them up for even longer term success.

They definitely have the #1 QB I think and if England stays healthy they will be tough to beat. Their big question is still their line play however. Should be a fun fun season. I had Ryle as #2 behind HHS but it also won't be a huge shock to me if Ryle does lose to a Cooper or SK. Cooper's D may be the best in the area and SK still has Racke and Powell so even though I have Ryle ahead of both teams in 6A it won't be a huge surprise if they fall to one or both teams I mentioned. Remember Cooper basically only lost their QB from last year and Cooper also beat Ryle last year.

I too think Ryle is the team to beat in 6a. They have a big time QB and a very good RB. Line play may be a problem but other 6a schools also have this issue.

Side note. The Cooper team that played Dixie last year must not have been the same one that played Ryle. Ryle gave dixie more problems than SK did last year.
