Johnny Cueto

Cross Houston off the list. They just acquired Kazmir. The Reds are going to screw this up, you can just tell.

Take a deep breath...

One thing to think about is if Houston was even option for Cueto given the bad blood between Jocketty and Houston's GM

What do the Yankees have to offer, I have no idea about their farm system.

The big piece is OF Aaron Judge. He's a monster, like 6'7" 250.

If they are trying to unload Phillips that is going to significantly hurt their return.

I'd say he, Severino, Refsnyder and Bird would likely be off the table--for sure if the Yankees taking Phillips is a requirement.

Potential suitors will be glued to Johnny Cueto's start in COL Sat. to look for a bounce-back. "Biggest start of his life," said one exec.

Unfortunately, I would have to agree. Who knows. At this point, I'm just eager to see what the roster looks like come next Friday at 4. :lol2:

One thing to consider though is their current 2B is hitting .179

I don't buy that. Cueto's body of work speaks for itself, and in the last 30 days, he has thrown 32 innings (3 quality starts) with a 2.25 ERA & 0.97 WHIP. It's not like he has been struggling.

I honestly believe those who are casting doubt on Cueto are doing so anonymously in an effort to cool the market for him.

June's Stats:

5 starts (1 win, 1 loss), 31 1/3 IP, 2.87 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, .178 BAA

July's Stats:

4 Starts (2-1, including 1 CGSHO), 26 IP, 2.08 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, .179 BAA

Yes, but Refsnyder was a late cut coming out of spring training. He's hitting .292 at AAA. They don't want Phillips blocking him.

Like he cares what his trade value is. He has 14 more starts to prove he's healthy by the end of the year. Sounds like some guys that have their own agenda to drive his price down. Like CC said, his body of work speaks for itself.
