I'm curious as to what you mean by this. Outside of maybe 3 or 4 programs in this state (none of which would have this kind of issue this late), what a head coach is paid is set in stone by the local school board.

 

I'd be very interested to know if there are high schools out there willing to go above and beyond the published pay-rate to acquire a coach at any time of year (again, outside those 3 or 4 programs I'm sure would 'find a way' to get who they want).

 

COULD BE that you mean they hire an UNDER-QUALIFIED person, thus the published pay-rate is more than they're worth.

 

I meant more in the sense that they get a good/easy job and get a good/easy job for their spouse. Not directly money, but more so they get a pretty cushy job type thing.

I don't know... I think it is the offense that best suits itself to a quick install. Mostly because you can rep the key parts of the offense quicker than just about any other scheme.

 

You can do 2-ball drills for 20 minutes and get close to 100 reps for QB reads/FB path/HB pitch route. OL isn't much more complex.

 

Obviously, July 15th isn't ideal, but it can be done - IF they have the right personnel.

Yep that's him. Moving the program in the right direction. :o

I just googled him and He was also a Head coach at Maderia in the late 90s and and had a winning record and made the playoffs a couple of times. He was also the head coach at Northwest for a few years after Maderia and then Fairfield. His most successful time was at Maderia though.

 

So before people form opinions at least know more about his experience besides just at one stop.

I think you can make a case that ANY hire at this point is a good thing. To get a guy with this kind of experience this late in the game for this kind of job is somewhat shocking.
