1. Desales

2. CAL

3. Mayfield

 

You clearly aren't familiar with Mayfield. An argument can be made between DeSales and Mayfield but only in regards to 1 and 2. Mayfield should, under no circumstances be #3 .

Agreed, but when both teams return a lot of the same people, SK did beat them pretty handily, and Lafayette is easily one of the most underachieving teams relative to their talent on a yearly basis, having them ranked 5th, or even ahead of SK, is a bit ridiculous.

Lafayette has a lot hype this year because of all the talent they have, I hope they live up to it, really looking forward to Trinity's visit there!!

You forget Russ and they have to figure in it. They have been the toughest opponent for Mf nearly every year Mf was in 1A

 

In my honest opinion, I totally forgot about them. I haven't read much on them recently, however, from years past they should be close to a 5. I don't know about having them above Painstville, but possibly ahead of Hazard would be a good argument.

Again I fail to see what last year has to do with this year but if that is the way you wish to look at it then you should recall that Mayfield handled Murray and Desales survived thanks to a refs blunder. Given this line of thinking, maybe Murray should be ahead of Desales and Cal as I predicted using your line of thinking

I'm not a Mayfield fan. But I've seen enough of that program to know what they do and that is win. Sometimes rivals, which I assume Desales and CAL are, play closer games than those teams would play against different opponents. We'll see in the long run.

 

I would ask how you don't see that Mayfield is better than CAL?

Class A looks fair. 1 and 2 should be Beechwood and Raceland. At the 3 spot I would put Paintsville with all the kids they have returning and the Kash Daniel hype. Now at 4 I would go with Pikeville. They lost several pieces from last year that will not be replaced easy but it helps to have a stud running back returning for them. At 5 I just can't put 1 team because I think it's at least a 3 way tie for it with Hazard, Russellville and Frankfort. I myself being familiar with Hazard believe they return more and a few transfers and a key player who was hurt in the Pikeville game returning I like there chances. So I think you could plug Any of those 3 but me I would put Hazard there.
