Where are they at now? I know the old shop no longer exists.

They moved up the highway in that shopping center behind substation it's very nice place. They are sharing space with a Beauty Shop.:sssh:

I asked that at the barber shop the other day and was told freedom park.

That would have been my first guess.

I'm sure Todd and Darryl love that, and I'm not being sarcastic.

BTW, when do the Raiders start playing? Freedom Park is/was their practice location.

I don't think that ever came to fruition. I know it was talked about but I'm pretty sure Dixie hit the road for every softball game.

I thought I read something in the paper saying they were playing there. I guess not though.

Still is where we practice. Practice starts July 17th.:thumb:

Thanks! :thumb: I guess Dixie has the field during the day until you get there.

As far as I know the summer practices will be at Freedom Park. At least that is where the passing league practice is.....

I talked to Coach Spritzky last night and they are doing a little passing/practice, or whatever teams call it at this time of year. Didn't think to ask where, but freedom park sounds right. As always, Tom is a little more woried about filling positions vacated by seniors than I am. I can't wait till the passing camp. I'm like a kid in a candy store.:D Matt Mosier is doing great, should be 100% before the season. Same for Jake.

Very happy to hear that !:D :D I can't wait to see them both back playing !!!:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I drove by the field today, and it looks as though the plans may have changed from the last one I saw. It almosts looks as though the field is running in the same direction as the old one, but just pushed back 30+ yards. It doesn't appear that a softball field will fit where Caywood was based on the construction I saw. I didn't see the field from the view of the old upper parking lot to see if I could see a layout of the field. I just came up by where Caywood used to sit there on Summit Drive.

As a side note, all concrete and blacktop has been ripped up around the school. There are no sidewalks and no parking lots.

Did you happen to notice that they've already laid the foundation for the field and are putting down the gravel base for the field? Looks like they made it to the 25 yard line when I went by.:D I took some pics, but you know me, I'll upload them sometime between now and christmas.

The design is different, there is a mound of dirty about thirty feet high where Catwood was. I think they will be bringing that whole area up about 15 feet higher than it was so it is level with the road. I think they can still fit it in though.

Here's the latest, as you can see it's taking shape.:thumb:

Thanks for the pics. :thumb: The layout has obviously changed. Now I wonder where the softball field will go, as there doesn't appear to be enough room where Caywood used to sit.

I think either it's a bigger stadium than previously planned. I wonder if it is going on top with the baseball field and the practice field will be below. I think it will take a very creative architect to fit it in the previously allotted spot. I would think that if we get clear skies, construction on the stadium and track will be done sometime in July. third or fourth week. I have no idea when the parking lots and such will be done though. It doesn't seem that they have started leveling and compacting those areas yet. I think there are more guys working up there during the day then on the Turkeyfoot road construction project though, so cross your fingers.

I can believe you on the Turkeyfoot Rd construction. I drive that almost every morning and this past week, there's hardly anyone out there other than the two people standing on the road holding the stop signs by the church. That's got to be a boring job. It's more logical to put the softball and baseball fields close to one another due to the use of the same equipment and products on the field, but yet it's safer to keep them at a distance. It looks as though they the shouldn't have any problem getting the football field done before the Highlands' game, but mother nature could change that like you said. I'll have to stop by up there next week and try to figure out what they're doing with the ball fields. Maybe they finally were able to buy the other buildings up there that they've been trying to get, and those companies have 'x' amount of days to move, thus the new location of the softball field. I know that's what they originally wanted to do.
