Dixie Stadium Construction

From what I saw it looked like they were building the stands on the hillside.

I wish there was a copy of the CAD drawing online somewhere.

Very impressed to date. I go by every weekend since I live in Erlanger. This is truly going to be tops in N. Ky. when completed. Long wait will be over soon. JD

Cool.. and I can even remember playing Dixie on the "old" field and not the newe one they just demolished. It ran perpendicular to the most recent one although not in the same space. I guess I am old.

I've got some new pics from a better angle, just got to edit them down so I can post them.

What's taking so long? :D

I'll try and take at a lower resolution next time so I can put in a bigger pic, they are putting the foundation in for the buildings on the home side though you can't see them in the pic.

I drove by yesterday, and man does it look different. I went through the subdivision and by Caywood. Growing up in that subdivision, and coming up the little hill and not seeing Caywood anymore, and just seeing mounds of dirt is definitely strange. I could see the concrete forms for the concession/locker rooms being put up on the far side of the lot. They're some type of building being erected were the right field fence was on the softball field, and there's 3 steel beams out by where the left field fence used to be. I have no clue what these were for. I didn't have a camera on me, or else I would've captured some pics.

Where will Dixie practice while they're waiting for their new field?

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. My only thought would be Turkeyfoot, but then where would the soccer team practice? With Edgewood being generous and letting Dixie use the ball field for softball (could've been a fee involved, but I don't know), it's possible that they let the soccer team use the outfield of the large ball field, and the football team would practice at Turkeyfoot. This way the football equipment stays in a fenced-in, locked area.

I asked that at the barber shop the other day and was told freedom park.

Todd's???

That's another place I didn't think of. But hauling the equipment around would be a pain unless they have some storage room in the senior center or something.

Todd's???

Yes. That would be Harry, Darrel and Todd. :thumb:

Where are they at now? I know the old shop no longer exists.

I don't think that ever came to fruition. I know it was talked about but I'm pretty sure Dixie hit the road for every softball game.
