It has been mentioned on here about recent church burnings in the south. I believe there have been 3-5 churches set allegedly set ablaze in 4 different states in the last month. Tonight, Mt. Zion AME in Greeleyville, SC is on fire.

I see a VERY dark time we are entering in. Instead of arguing about gay marriage, if we all worked together we could stop garbage like this, and a lot of other important issues.

Terrible. I hope that those responsible are caught soon.

The current media attitude is that there is nothing serious going on here.

You would that think that a church being set fire would have lots of attention, and that after 7 churches being set on fire within a few weeks that it would be all that people would be talking about, maybe even use all the energy towards to this problem. I can all but guarantee the FBI is already investigating. I would also bet all my money the Southern Poverty Law Center is investigating as well.

 

Just because you aren't hearing about doesn't mean nothing is being done about it.

 

The media is currently interested in the recent SCOTUS rulings on Obamacare and same sex marriage. They are only after ratings and that's what is currently bringing in the ratings. Sad but true.

I would like to add that if we really want to end racism in the country and good start would be to quit labeling things as "black". Is it necessary to say these are black churches? All churches are the house of God no matter who attends the worship services. Just a thought.

Yes, if someone is attacking these specific churches because they are predominantly black, then it needs to be labeled "black". Instead of running away from the subject, we can acknowledge that some things are done because of race. Unlike certain news networks that were calling the Charleston shooting an attack on christians and refused to say because they were black. Food for thought.
