How many of you have attended a gay or lesbian wedding or civil union ceremony?

Featured Replies

I have, believe it, or not. It was about 15 to 20 years ago. 2 lovely ladies were married in a beautiful ceremony at a hotel. I have not heard from them in about 13 years, but I am sure that they are very happy together.

Now, :wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave:

Have you attended one?

Thanks to both of you.

My point with this thread is for people to get off of my back with regards to who I am.

Thanks.

I've had some great friends in several locations that I've lived, I'd have went to any of their weddings had there been any.

Thanks to both of you.

I don't have any issues with who you are and I look forward to more cordial debate.

Do you think that the courts should take the Bible into account when making law?

I have had this discussion previously on other topics.

It is off topic here.

This reminds me of:

I'm not racist, I play basketball with 3 black guys on Tuesday night!

To answer your question, I have never attended a same sex ceremony. I am fairly good friends with a gay couple, though. I haven't yet asked if there is any added pressure since the SCOTUS ruling.

Did you just call me a bigot?

Never have. I was invited to one, but could not attend due to the distance needed to travel and timing/conflicts. I have several friends now in this area that are now free to marry, so I'm guessing I'll be attending one sooner than later.

This is a very interesting point I had not thought of. I wonder how many gay couples will break up over this ruling. Before, they could just live together and not have to think about marriage. Now, what if one partner wants to get married and the other does not (just like with many straight couples)...
