I have not, but would like to. Just as I'd love to attend a wedding of people of the Islamic faith, Jewish faith, and of all other diverse cultures. Different cultures and customs fascinate me, and I firmly believe the only way to truly gain an understanding of them is to experience it.

I had two gay men as next door neighbors for 15 years, best neighbors you could ask for. They were accepted by the whole neighborhood. BTW, the were great cooks.

That didn't really answer my question, but to each his own. :lol2: You're the first person I've ever heard of that doesn't enjoy a good wedding.

Free booze, free food, and dancing? I'm there.

I have thought about this before. Don't know that I would. I mean, if you attend a wedding that means you condone the union, correct? If you don't believe in gay marriage, then not sure how you could attend and in essence "condone" the marriage.

 

The same would go, IMO, if a lady invited me to her wedding, marrying a man who has routinely beat and abused her, who everyone has told to leave the relationship and move on. I couldn't condone that marriage either so I think I wouldn't attend.

 

My best friend growing up, Ricky, married his high school sweetheart who he had gotten pregnant, both age 17. I was the best man and had just turned 18 myself. Ricky's mom did not attend the wedding. She didn't agree with it and wasn't going to condone it, she thought it was a horrible idea. Turned out she was right. Terrible marriage that ended a few years later.

 

Now that doesn't mean I wouldn't still care for my friend and support in other ways. Just means that I couldn't support them in this particular decision.
