This is a very interesting point I had not thought of. I wonder how many gay couples will break up over this ruling. Before, they could just live together and not have to think about marriage. Now, what if one partner wants to get married and the other does not (just like with many straight couples)...

 

Do you think all their friends tell them not do it like straight people do before their marriage. Will divorce rates go up, down, or stay steady at 50%.

My sister married into an interesting family. Her husband has 6 siblings. One brother is a Catholic priest. One sister has been in a committed relationship with another woman for many years. I remember several years ago when the sister had a wedding/commitment ceremony. About half the family attended, half did not. I know that the parents, the priest brother and my brother-in-law and my sister did not attend. It was a long time ago. The sister and her partner (and their daughter) have always been included in their family functions.

I would attend any wedding, and from the people that I know who would have a same sex wedding I would say they may be the best weddings I would ever attend.

 

I find it funny how that pizza place in Indiana last year was "scared" they would be forced to cater to a gay wedding. Seriously? Who in the world has a pizza place cater a wedding? And no gay person would even joke about it let alone consider it.

 

Funny and sad part is gullible religious conservatives sent them money, if I recall they got over 700k!
