I thought this guy was an attorney - There is a formal eviction process in Kenton county - You need to provide proper notice and go through a "Forcable Detainer" hearing. You can not just change the locks and take possession of the tenant's property.

 

I think he's screwed.

Just spit-balling but when one party owes the other party that kind of money already from missed lease payments I assume they will settle out of court on the terms of the guy who is owed the money.

I feel bad for the employees who never got their pay checks that where locked up in the restaurant.

They certainly have the leverage to push a settlement, however, if the landlord didn't follow the lease or evict properly, I'm guessing it could get dicey.

 

I would think each party would initially ask themselves what's the cost and potential payout, then decide.

 

I think I would go all in and force Deters into a courtroom where he has demonstrated his inability to not be a buffoon. The free press for my new restaurant would likely be worth it.

I'll go out on a limb and say they were weren't worth the paper they were printed on...otherwise, you do know that they can print new payroll checks, right ?

When I'm in town I've gone to this spot with my parents and I've met the owners and they are nice people. I've also met Deters. Let's just say I'm going to believe the long time business owners over a man who was forced out of his profession of choice.

Two of them. I ate at the one on the Levee, twice. I figured maybe the first time I just had a bad batch of wings, wrong, the second time I got as sick as the first time. And I am very easy to please when it comes to food, so for me to give a bad review, there is something to it, plus the fact both locations closed soon after they opened.

I would love to be there and see it if this did happen. Heck, they could do a PPV, but I don't see his court fight lasting as long as his MMA fight.

My old company built the new Kroger in that plaza...a plaza owned by the Deters Company (a company owned and managed by NUMEROUS attorneys in the Deters family). I got a look at the lease Kroger signed with the Deters company. One of the most detailed commercial leases I've ever seen...and I've seen hundreds. I'm no Eric Deters fan by ANY stretch, but not only do I think I side with Eric on this one, but I'm also pretty damn confident, given his description of the situation, that he's going to come away clean on this one.

With the population in that area and always increasing it blows my mind a Applebee or Red Robin sit down but not formal place hasn't been put in and done well.

 

 

No lunch traffic during the week. My thought has always been an Outback, but I think they may struggle too.
