Don't They still have a Buffalo Bobs on Mount Zion road??

Yes they only closed the Independence location. Mt. Zion is still open and owned by the same owners.

Looks like the only person who thinks this is a joke is Deters.

7,400 in rent a month that is crazy! Over 88,000 a year.

Not really when you think about commercial space.

The building that Pomps was in is burried to the side and behind everything. Nothing will last there. I love the b dubs and the fast food places always do well.

I miss the Chicken Roost. That was a classy place.

There's that word again…Independence must be full of classy dining establishments.

It is Peecox now a lot of people still call it the Chicken Roost or the Bird.

I didn't read the article, but unless a family restaurant can produce exceptional food at exceptional prices, they're going to struggle in that part of Independence regardless of the land owner. You don't have a high volume of lunch patrons due to the lack of businesses in the area. I'm not surprised by the closing of all the restaurants over the years.

Just like the old Buckskin Bev's on 27 in Cold Spring. Entrepreneurs keep coming in....and getting right out.

Oops. My wife's cousin is one of the owners, I guess I should've known better.

They certainly have the leverage to push a settlement, however, if the landlord didn't follow the lease or evict properly, I'm guessing it could get dicey.

I would think each party would initially ask themselves what's the cost and potential payout, then decide.

I think I would go all in and force Deters into a courtroom where he has demonstrated his inability to not be a buffoon. The free press for my new restaurant would likely be worth it.

Weird question, is Deters able to represent himself in a Civil matter since he is suspended? I would think that that Constitutional protection is only for a felony, or am I misremembering.

Larry G?

Yes. He was a server at our wedding a little over 20 years ago.

Larry G?

He and I played baseball together from Kindergarten through senior year and spent a TON, I mean a ton, of time hanging out with him. Don't get to see him as much anymore. Funny man.

I don't see him as much as I used to, but it's usually a fun time when I do. Love his parents as well....great family.
