The owners have opened a location in Walton, right? Seems like they could cover it. If this is a table-service place, most of the staff wouldn't have that big a check to have to cover.

June 18, 201511 yr I didn't read the article, but unless a family restaurant can produce exceptional food at exceptional prices, they're going to struggle in that part of Independence regardless of the land owner. You don't have a high volume of lunch patrons due to the lack of businesses in the area. I'm not surprised by the closing of all the restaurants over the years. Help me if there are more. Also remember, that in the other small strip center in that complex, that Buffalo Bob's and Pompelio's were two other restaurants that failed to make it in that area. And I'm not sure how BW3 is making it across the street. I've been there many times and there's never a wait, and unless there is a sporting event it's pretty dead.

Not sure if anything is occupying that space now. I've got to say, at this point, I question if it isn't an Independence problem rather than a Declaration Drive problem. As far as I can tell, Buffalo Wild Wings, LaRosa's, Frisch's, and Peecox 2 are the classiest establishments to make it more than a year or so in Independence...
