It is so hard to officiate guys as athletic as the NBA guys but man did they miss some calls late tonight. Two jump balls Green obviously grabbed guys. LBJ was just raked across both arms right in front of Brothers (ref) on one - no call...

Here's the thing on that. I don't understand the mentality that says that since I think Jordan is better than LeBron that I automatically think that LeBron stinks. It is like the guys who put down Manning to build up Brady. I don't feel that way. I feel like if I have a starting 5 of any player from any time, my 2G is Jordan and my SF is LBJ, over my hero LJB. There can only be 1 GOAT. It doesn't mean that someone is a hater if they disagree who that 1 person is.

What Dellavedova did great on Curry is deny him the ball. In order for Curry to embarrass Dellavedova he's going to have to play selfish. When Dellavedova was on Curry when Curry gave the ball up Dellavedova wouldn't let him get it back easily if at all. Ball Denial 101.

 

The Cavs took a page out Ruthsatz book at CovCath. Cut off the head of the offense and make the body make decisions. Deny the orchestrator his baton and the other team will have issues scoring.

Outside of the first quarter of Game 1, the Cavs haven't looked like the best team. They have the best player in the world who has been carrying them, and the benefit of Curry and Green having sub-par games last night.

Last week Bradley Beal said that Delly defended him tougher than anyone in the NBA. This is not shocking that he shined yesterday.

 

This game showed why LeBron is the best in the business. He was not good at scoring the ball. But his action and distribution abilities made it possible for the Cavs to score enough to win. Again, best PG in the league and it is not close.

Exactly. I've said on numerous occasions that Lebron is the best player in the world right now, and has been for several years. Just because I think Jordan is better doesn't mean I think Lebron is crap. Just as much as they like to try to throw things in the Lebron Haters faces, they desperately seek anything that may help their argument of LBJ being the GOAT. It goes both ways.

I concur. I feel like Golden State is better, but Cleveland is a bad match-up for them with their ability to defend and lack of rebounding or low post prowess.

 

And before everyone losses their minds, many were saying Miami should have been up 2-0 on San Antonio this time last year. San Antonio ended up wining the finals by a record margin and annihilated the Heat the next 3 games. Not saying that will happen, but series take on game-by-game personalities and adjustments are huge in off-days.

LeBron is going to average his 35-38pts per game, Steph Curry will not average 18 a game the rest of the season like he scored last night. Bad night for him. Give Cleveland credit though, for making him take very contested shots. It's going to be a fun series.

As I said last game, people get too caught up with the points, but the most important number is the assists for LeBron.

Shumpert is nothing special. Smith is a goofy sixth man. He may go off for 25 next game. Both are good wing defenders which is why they are playing so much.

Just like you have to give credit to Delli on Curry, I give Golden State credit for Smith's woes. They are playing great defense and aren't letting him get good looks
