Cov Cath and Beechwood are located in Kenton County but I definitely would not consider the "county" schools. Dixie is the only Kenton County school in the tournament.

I'm sure he meant by county and not a county school district.

New Cath run ruled Dixie in 5 innings, 11-1.

It was not a good day to be wearing red on your uniform in the 9th region games. The only favorite to win today was Highlands. It is Highlands regional to lose at this point. Although New Cath looked really good today at the plate, in the field and on the bases. The question is who do they have that can pitch.

Big day for the 33rd.

Not so much for the 35th.

33rd may not always have the best team or highest ranked team according to all the "experts" out there but the 33rd is easily the toughest District top to bottom. I was not surprised at all at the results. I think the better team won in both games.

I highly doubt that anyone would question that the 33rd is the best district, top to bottom. I might question whether today's winners we're the better teams. However, no denying that they were the better teams today!

I like the way you stated that OB. :thumb:

It always gets me how people claim their team is much better than another after winning a baseball game. Does anyone think NCC would run rule Dixie again if they played tonight? I doubt even the stoutest NCC fan would expect that. Anything can happen in a baseball game. If both teams have solid pitchers going, anything can happen.

A win in baseball proves you were better that day and not much else.

Baseball, is by far the least predictable of any sport due to so much riding on who can/cannot pitch that day and what type of pitching your team struggles with. Not to much the error factor at the high school level.

True during the regular season and maybe the semis and finals of the region but not the first game when each team usually throws their ace. You're seeing best vs best. I think the first round gives the truest indication.

Does this apply to Dixie yesterday?

Does this apply to Dixie yesterday?[/quote That was the big question of the day where I was sitting. Isn't Smallwood their ace. Why didn't he start? Did he pitched against NCC earlier in the season and Dixie wanted to throw a different look ?

^^^

I left early , looks like Smallwood did pitch and NCC was hitting him too. I seen NCC a couple of times this season and they have hit the ball well. Lot of line drives.
