  1. Yes Raisor is finished for the tournament. His final line will say 6IP but due to KHSAA pitch rule. The one pitch he threw in the 7th constitutes as an inning pitched. Forcing him to need 3 days rest. I would guess Martin will get the ball to start. Then relievers will be dictated by score, inning, right or left handed batter, etc... I would be very surprised to see Jones on the mound today as a starter, considering that there are fresh quality arms available.
  2. Maybe I should have quoted the post that I was responding to. The post that claimed that most were D1 talent but didn't know why they signed with D2 and JUCO schools. It may have still come across as a shot, maybe not. I believe back to back 96 and 97 seasons. Losing to Harrison Co. by 1 run both years.
  3. McCracken lost to Hazard 5-1 in the first round last year. Hazard's roster consisted of 1 6th Grader 5 7th Graders 4 Frosh 6 Soph 3 SRs With all the talent McCracken couldn't beat a group of underclassmen? Enough with the stats and SOS regarding the Mustangs. This Highlands team will be ready. *Disclaimer* Not discounting Hazard at all.
  4. Thanks for the info. Sounds like these two teams will create an instant classic. Can't wait!!
  5. So going into the 7th. I could assume this game was 1-0, 2-0? Was McGee still pitching in the 7th?
  6. The bolded intrigues me. Do you have details on this game?
  7. Just read a tweet that said of the last seven opponents. Highlands is 85-2 with St Henry being the team to score the two runs. That's a crazy stat!!
  8. Any update on NCC and Dixie?
  9. This would be the ideal situation!
  10. Who does Boone have to throw? Maybe Elmore or Dahms.
  11. What about Martin for HHS?
  12. What do those teams you mentioned have in terms of pitching depth? The names I have heard of are Young at Cov Cath and Smallwood at Dixie.
  13. Teams listed are from the NKY Coaches Poll Stringer - Beechwood Edwards & Eblin - Campbell County (played them twice) Ostertag - Conner Ziglemyer(sp?) - Ryle Moeves - NCC The only game that was Ace vs Ace was Ryle. Highlands has beat the other teams listed using pitchers ranging 2-4 on the depth chart.
  14. We are closing in on the half way mark of the allotted number of games. I believe the question marks have been answered. Pitching - was expected to be solid and has been nothing less than great! Second base - Grayson Heck has been the starter as suggested and is doing a great job. I will admit that I did like the lineup Coach B put on the field against Boyle. Infield was Martin 3B, Ramey SS, Whitford 2B, Mills 1B. With lineup coach was able to Kenny Ball as the DH. Right Field - there were a couple of names thrown out that could/would play this position. So far Conner Kreegar has seen the most innings. IMO will continue to do so as he is just raking at the plate. Also brings a ton of speed to the outfield. The schedule for this up coming week Monday - St. Henry @ St Henry 7PM Wednesday - NCC @ HP 5PM (district seeding game) Thursday - Campbell County @ HP 5PM Saturday - La Salle (OH) @ La Salle HS 12PM
  15. Wow!!! What a game. Highlands is fundamentally sound defensively. The play by Grayson Heck to cut down the run at the plate was BIG. Mitch Jones was fantastic on the mound tonight. Got to tip my cap the starting pitcher(sorry name escapes me) for Lexington Catholic. Young man was only a soph and showed great mound presence for an underclassmen.
