Sounds like BC is letting the inmates run the asylum from what I've heard. I don't know PK's overall record out there but I'm guessing it's pretty good. He's a young man that sacrificed more than most of us ever would to make that program successful. IMO had it been MaCo that eliminated the Lady Bears last season maybe we aren't having this discussion. Pretty unfortunate to take credit away from a group that put it all together one night to beat the odds just because of who they are. I don't know what "different direction" they are going in but they just left Successville...

No one is taking anything away from Augusta. While I don't know any details as of yet that's why I have not posted. But to get on here and try to say that PK (Augusta alumni) was dismissed because of one loss to Augusta lay season is absurd. Just another way for the Atown fan base to take unnecessary shots at Bracken Co. But it's always been that way and I don't know why I would have thought it be any different in this case.

The programs out there let a few parent run the sports program. Maybe PK can get a part time AD job bc that is the same thing that happen in the boys program. Don't know what is going on in the town but parents need to stop.

Does that mean they're opposed to winning? I don't know this for certain, but I suspect he is BC's most successful Coach all time. I don't know about total wins but he's certainly had tremendous post season success. IMO, a bad move! I hope Mason is paying attention and snaps him up.

Just merely stating an opinion. I do know that rumblings really started up after BC's district loss. I hope I am wrong because that is absurd. And there may be more to the story but when you go 127-70 and are shown the door and there aren't many details, people will come up with ideas as to why. So we are where we are now, guessing and discussing. Not looking to start trouble, just can't figure it out.

The majority of the time when an administration tells someone that they want to take any type of program athletic or otherwise in a "new" direction it's done for political reasons and most of the time that new direction is ??. It's sad but that's the lessons kids are learning in schools today, Its not about how well you do your job, it's all about who you know and who's friend you are! Sad. Good luck to Coach Kelsch!

This makes no sense. Most people I've talked to have no idea why this happened... Something smells in Brooksville.

First and foremost, Patrick Kelsch is a good man, with the best interest of his players and program at heart. To me that is 90% in making a successful coach.

He has been successful at what he has done at Bracken County.

 

In the grand scheme of things, I cannot imagine those in power thinking that they could do better than PK for their program, but they also let Chad Persinger go on the boys side, who had credentials much like PKs a year ago. How'd that work out????

 

I think you have to look at what is best for your individual programs and identify what it is you want in a coach. Perhaps at Mason, Montgomery, Clark there is more emphasis on wins and championships. At Augusta and Bracken I would think that their players having a positive experience and performing to their maximum ability while being realistic should be the goal. Apparently not!

I waited before posting on this to see the initial reaction and to get better info on this move. While keeping my ear to the ground a listening to some of the Chatter coming out of Brooksville.

 

With that said I see a lot of bashing on the administration on this move, but has anyone thought that PK might just be the happiest man in this whole ordeal? I am not going on here and posting what I've been told because I've been asked not to but I don't think PK is beating himself up over this one. Some that I've talked too have been saying he may wanted out but took the wrong approach to getting there. I can say for fact that he was contemplating leaving after this past season. Was getting into a slight burnout phase in his career. Probably would have been gone after next season anyway on his own accord so this may not have been the year he wanted to go but it is the year he is going.

With MoCo last year and Jason Hollon only loosing 3 games, it looks that way, but it depends on the program IMO.

 

The last 2 coaches ran out of MoCo

were both ran out by parent's (same family) who were connected with/to key school administrators who could get the ball rolling to get these

coaches dismissed.

 

The reasons and smoke screens to dismiss these coaches used by those involved was comical at best.

Both firings benefited the children of

the complaining parents.

 

Once this cycle starts its extremely hard to stop. Other parents quickly

see whats happening and they to bring their axes to grind.

 

For the BC coach to win that many games and last this long he has actually done very well imo. The average year expectancy for a coach is shrinking each year.

People in Bracken are not happy and they feel PK is not too.

Im hearing mixed emotions which I guess is to be expected.

You would be surprised as to how many are not so upset with this decision. There are some loyal Kelsch people in Brooksville but not as. Many as I initially thought.
