April 27, 201511 yr They don't need young arms. They have those. What they need is young ML ready bats. They have Winker. That's about the extend of the guys that are ready or close to being ready. Not denying that they could not use bats because the Reds are pathetic but you always need arms when you can get them.
April 27, 201511 yr I think Bruce needs to sit for an entire series. Let the bench guys fill in. Agreed but I would even take it a step further and sit for much longer than a series. I would play Boesch and if he gets hot, make Bruce earn back a spot when he shows that he will do what the team needs and start making better contact and hitting to all fields.

I've seen never that work before. A lot of times managers don't want to give them more than a day of so they aren't just sitting there thinking about it for 4-5 days.
