September 11, 201511 yr Author St. Louis is 10th out 15 for BA with RISP - (NL only) #1 in all of baseball for team ERA. Might have changed a little after last night but Cardinals ERA is second best since 1975. Only 1981 Astros was better.
September 12, 201511 yr I have to point out some things in this post. The Cardinals are not winning because of hitting. They are winning because of great pitching. The Cardinals team batting avg is .254 and the Reds is .250. The Reds have more RBI's then the Cardinals (539 to 537) and the Reds have struck out less. And guess who the Blue Jays hired as their hitting coach this year. Brooke Jacoby, who the Reds ran out of town a couple years ago because he stunk. And with his hire, he was the fourth hitting coach in 4 years at Toronto. Edwin is still a career .266 hitter. Yeah saying Edwin is still a .266 hitter is short changing him a little bit. Per the stat weighted runs created plus, Edwin has been 35% better than the average major league offensive player since going to the blue jays. And has been 25% better for his career. To put these numbers in context, neither Todd Frazier or Bruce in their best offensive seasons have had a mark at or above 25% above average. So yeah citing Edwin's average doesn't quite cut it

So yeah citing Edwin's average doesn't quite cut it No problems with Edwin Encarncion at all. It was more the statement saying the Blue Jays had much better hitting instructors and fixed him. The Blue Jays have had 4 different hitting instructors in the last 4 years and the last one being a cast off from the Reds.
September 14, 201511 yr Something is working in Toronto I guess it's magic, they are leading the league in hitting. Edwin has changed his swing if you look at film of his Reds swing to his Blue-jays swing. I don't know if someone outside the organization helped him or if old Pete Rose himself gave him lessons.
September 14, 201511 yr Does Bruce wears contacts? I think he needs glasses. I think he needs to get rid of his Va Jay Jay and replace it with a more manly organ... He's way too delicate and soft!
