As is often the case, on paper these look like mostly good games.

If my options on November 19th are to watch Thursday night football or light myself on fire.... fire wins.

and I am a Rams' fan but this one doesn't.

But you are right most look like good games.

They've progressively done a better job with Thursdays. That first year they tried doing it every single week, the event was a series of tire fires featuring some of the worst teams in the league.

This is considerably better.

IT is better but I don't watch much Thursday night football. Still can't get use to the idea that games are on this night.

I don't watch it generally either, but I don't watch a whole lot of NFL outside the Vikings until the playoffs. It's not uncommon for me to be more interested in a Thursday night college game than in the NFL games, but that's a function of the ACC playing on Thursday fairly regularly.

I see one game I'll watch and that's it. Thursday nights are for college football.

I really enjoy Thursday night games. One you get a chance to watch a game you otherwise wouldn't watch and two it is the only show in town so you can focus on the game if that is your cup of tea.

Frankly, with NFL Redzone, unless something is a big game it is hard to get the channel off Red Zone.

Totally agree Ru. Red Zone is the best invention since ice cream. The announcer (Hanson I think) does a great job and if you are into fantasy football at all, it is a must.

Excellent point on Scott Hanson, he is an excellent fit hosting Red Zone, the NFL crushed it all the way around with RZ.

First three weeks in October should be the best three game stretch of the season. The final three week stretch could be good as well, but it's hard to know if the games will have any real playoff implications.

Don't have Redzone, but my brother does and he loves it. Once I have more steady checks coming in, it's something I'm going to try and get, but right now it's too high as part of my cable package.

Happy to get the SEC Network and in my TV market, you have to take the Longhorn Network and "college" package, which is enough as is, plus most of the pro sports are broken up (i.e., NFL package, NBA package, MLB package).

Don't know if it's like this in other places, but in certain zip codes here, you basically only have one option for a cable provider. If you are renting like I am, a satellite is basically out of the question, so AT&T has the market cornered.

Since every team has to appear once it kind of limits it to Divisional games but that is a good thing (as Marvin would say). Of course there will be lopsided games and games between 2-6 teams but overall it beats no having football on Thursday.
