Gravy train is over, will be interesting to see if charges are brought as to the destruction of files.

I love the headline "80% of the police forces resigns..." then you find out they only had 6 cops and 4 were part time. Made me laugh.

Yeah, "agenda", the go to word people use when they disagree with an opinion or issue. It doesn't matter the size of the town, but as soon as a black mayor is about to take office, they resign? And the old mayor stated "safety concerns"?

I think that everyone would agree that that article presented nothing substantial to draw a proper conclusion from. It was heavily slanted, as FoxNews will be. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Well if he's been robbed multiple times over the years that might explain why they need 6 cops.

The town has 700 people. He's been robbed multiple times and how many arrests? I don't know the answer, but if that answer isn't at least 1, then I could see the absolute frustration.

That's a possibility but there's no evidence of corruption right now, correct?

And it wasn't just the police quitting...

I should add, corruption wouldn't shock me. I forgot about the files being deleted. Do they know who did that?

HAD to have been either Rosemary Woods or Hillary Clinton.

One other thing that hasn't been mentioned as far as the resignations go. This is a small town where everyone knows everyone we'd have to assume. Look at the small towns and counties just in Kentucky where regime change has meant mass turnover in city and county offices. I know locally many knew that if they were known to have not supported the winning candidate they would be out of a job as soon as the "New Boss" came in or "Old Boss" was reelected. In this case the Mayor-elect already worked in City Hall so I'm sure there were distinct lines drawn on both sides and a "If your not with me, your against me" attitude prevails. I think we all would say that those that resigned didn't support the new mayor in the election, who's to say that they would have had a job after the mayor was in office.

Legal or not, morale or not we see people displaced every election cycle because they openly supported the loser in a local election. I'm not saying that is the case here but it would be a possibility.

No resignation letters have been found and the city computers were wiped clean. Excellent transition to new leadership.

Unfortunately that stuff happens more than it should. A sheriff s few years ago destroyed all of his files when he was defeated in an election, it was somewhere in Kentucky I can't remember where. When W beat Gore, the White House Staffers destroyed just about every keyboard in the WH by ripping off the W keys on inauguration day. I saw once where a mayor destroyed files and cancelled of his cities contract before he left office, pretty much leaving a mess that took close to a year to fix.

I know it's petty and probably a waste of resources but I sure wish that incoming administrations would pursue charges when files are destroyed by the outgoing regime. Those files are public property.

That's all craziness too. I couldn't imagine being that petty when serving in an electable position.

More than it should? It should never happen. There should be charges brought against those who do it. Inexcusable.

I agree but it happens from city hall to the White House, some are charged and some aren't.

Turns out the new mayor got elected as a result of a massive voter turnout of the town's black residents. They rolled out because of perceived injustice against the nephew of the new mayor. As a result the police officers believed they would not get a fair shake and believed that social media posts showed that they may be in danger.

I guess that is the beauty of democracy, if you don't like something, get enough votes to change it. Good for them.

There has to be more to this than just what those headlines seem to want to portray.

I don't think

it has anything to do with race.

She he already worked at city hall and I bet she was just a horri le

co-worker and now that she is in charge the others already know how bad it will

be under her reign.
