To play for Hinson would be a bonus for him in my opinion. He knows how to coach a scorer and get him shots (Bach) for example. Hinson is excited about the younger kids coming up 3rd-8th graders. He will do a great job, the place means alot to him, his wife and himself graduated from Bracken. Home run hire, and I think it keeps Crawford at Bracken. The hire they make at Mason will be key to the success of the district.

Size will be PC's major concern next year IMO. The losses of Hunter Lea & Robert Hall, their primary bigs, will be tough. But you look at a team that returns 4 of 5 starters, including Michael Antrobus & Dontaie Allen. Throw in underrated point guard Hunter Wood, along with several very effective role players, and Keaton Belcher's team is looking really good.

 

Hunter Wood is one of the steadiest players I've seen - especially during crunch time - in the 10th. With him running the offense and IF Crawford transfers, does Allen move to the 3/4? Do they run a 4 guard set?

If I'm Keaton Belcher, that's a problem I wouldn't mind having.

 

Crawford has shouldered a lot of the scoring responsibility at Bracken County, but he is a very skilled distributor of the basketball too. In regards to the two gifted scorers he might team with at PC, I've never detected a hint of selfishness from Dontaie Allen or Michael Antrobus. They are both really good players, in part, because they don't demand the ball be in their hands all the time.

 

I'll grant you that a PC team with Crawford would have to mesh and there could be some growing pains, but Keaton Belcher proved to me in year #1 that he can get it done.

Crawford will be fine whether he's in Brooksville or Falmouth IMO. Both head coaches are very good. As you pointed out, Hinson has shown he can coach a star (Bach) & Belcher knows what it takes to play high-level college basketball, meaning he can prepare kids for that. Both Pendleton & Bracken are in good hands with those 2 coaches.

Very much agree on Hunter Wood. As I mentioned before, he's an underrated 10th Region point guard. Pig Williams is tough & Caswell Fuller is outstanding, but Hunter is more than capable of leading PC to greater heights.

 

Whether Crawford comes to PC or not, they will be guard heavy. I think 4 guards in the starting rotation is very realistic whatever happens. Allen can play numerous positions on the floor, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him play any position.

Hunter Wood is the prototypical PG who would rather distribute than score. He is also an incredible leader who keeps guys in check. There will not be chemistry issues in the locker room because he won't allow it. GREAT young man and natural born leader.

Those are the 4 returning starters--at least based on who Belcher started in the Regional Tourney. I consider Allen more of a wing player than a true guard, but the guard skills are undoubtedly there. Wood & Antrobus are true 1 & 2 players. Browning seems to be a bit of a combo type player. Tanner Daugherty is maybe a 2 or a 3.

 

I'm told there's another Antrobus, Adam, who will be a sophomore & could give Pendleton some front court pop. Grant Walsh played pretty well when I saw him last year. LCD could give us a better rundown, but no matter what happens with Crawford, Pendleton will be deep & guard-oriented.

Not to get the thread off track, but the PG position may be the strongest next year in the 10th Region when you look at individual players. Wood, Pig, Fuller, Owens Crawford, Jake Ohmer, Austin Crawford, James Clark, Trent McGovney. Pretty solid group right there & I'm probably leaving some guys off.

Yes, I believe so.

As a Bracken fan i hope he stays, but wish him the best reguardless. I think Bracken Co is on the right track and the next two years have potential to be great.

 

Reguardless I still believe Hinson will get the absolute most out of the boys in blue and white and they will be fun to watch for some time to come. :thumb:

I love this post! For some reason most people in this area only care about the players who put up the most points. If you throw up enough shots eventually they add up to points; anyone can do that.

 

I'm not trying to take anything away from this kid but one man teams only go so far. And yes, there is much more to the game than scoring. Some people just don't get that.

I was curious so I looked up Crawfords stats and you were right, there is more to the game than scoring, and he did it because he lead the team in every stat. So don't come on here bashing a kid for his accomplishments, saying its easy to score pts if you shoot enough, try doing it as efficiently as he did.
