Sleep Disorders

Featured Replies

I hate wearing mine...I use the one that just goes over the nose. I am a mouth breather so I hate it. I really was not given the option..did try the one that went inside my nose...that one only caused sores. I have horrible sleep apnea, always had. Used to go to ER a lot when I was a baby....When I do use it I feel sooooo rested.

This just happens on Sunday nights.

I wake up at least once an hour from the time I go to sleep until the time to get up.

I have tried taking a nap during the day and I have tried going without a nap, but every Sunday the waking up thing happens.

I have taken sleep aids and even had a couple of drinks before heading to bed, but again nothing helps.

Like another poster I used to wake up at night with my airway almost totally blocked. It was terrifying. Since I live alone I never heard how badly I snored. I spent Christmas with my family one year and my parents said it sounded like was gasping most of the night. Since I lost the weight I don't even snore anymore.

This is what I was going to post. Some people genuinely have sleep disorders. But others can often control these disorders by staying healthy, eating correctly, etc. Another benefit of staying fit!

Apparently, there are a lot of us that have sleep challenges. In a related topic, has anybody ever seen a TV show or a movie where someone is using a CPAP machine? I haven't.

Mike and Molly did a show on it, it was pretty funny.

Ok, not a show I normally watch, but cool.

All of my issues were taken care of when I was 5 and had my adenoids and tonsils removed. I've slept quite well since, and my kids tell me I don't even snore.

Record whatever Golf tourney is on that day and watch holes 3-15. Record the NASCAR race and watch laps 15-130. Record a soccer game that is 2-0 at half and watch the second half. Record a hockey game that is 3-0 entering the third period and watch the third period. Record any baseball game that ended 1-0 and watch the first 7 innings. You should sleep like a baby.

Golf tourneys are good for hangovers.

Just last night they showed a machine being used in the show "Last Man on Earth".
