Who's the world beater Kentucky had to play to get to the round of 8? And now they get a Notre Dame team that was lucky to beat Butler. Heck, Xavier beat Butler.

#1 Overall Seed vs #4 Seed.

I'm a UK fan, but the thread isn't/shouldn't be a UK/UofL discussion ... keep it about the Cards and the game.

The Cards' last two games might be their best of the season. Huge contributions from Gill .. no way anyone could have seen that coming. And the 3 by Snider was deadly .. he's stepping in nicely for Jones.

Congrats on peaking at the right time.

I remember about 3 years ago when some posted that Coach Pitino had lost it. I wonder where those people have gone. :sneaky::sneaky::idunno:

Actually you should mean it is all the bad teams they got lucky to have to play. Talk about an easy side of brackett

Yeah, all those teams that were so bad they couldn't even make the tournament...

Very good win for the Cards. NC State had been playing very strong the last two months, and knocking off Villanova is not easy. The guard play has been excellent recently. They have stepped up big time. When Jones got dismissed the offense struggled, but give Pitino credit, he has gotten them back on track. Sparty is a tough out, but they don't score a hugh amount of points, so a trip to Indy for UL is a good chance.

On the pre-game show, I think it was Kenny Smith? That said Louisville is not a good team and can't score without Chris Jones. That team of analysts was not on the post-game, and I switched over to CBS and they were there. That same guy completely was flabbergasted. He obviously had no idea how to rationalize Louisville's win and both my sister and I looked at each other and asked "Did he just say one thing and the contradict himself in the same comments?"

No one has any idea at this point what to expect when Louisville takes the floor. Even Cardinal Fans have no idea. I love it! It probably is our biggest advantage right now. But I also hate it. I'm going to have a stroke before it's all over. :lol2:

And on top of that, this may be one of Pitino's best coaching jobs of his career. Easily said, I know, but still.

Seems like that is said quite often over the years. It just shows how good of a coach Pitino is at Louisville. When they made it to the Final Four in 2012 everybody was saying that as well but I think this year tops that.

Are you new? Please. No basketball thread is devoid of UK talk on this board.

I think the writers and commenters haven't had a chance to adjust to the lineup with Snider. Has been better than we could have ever hoped.

Snider has played 111 minutes so far in the tournament; he's had only three turnovers. Taking care of the ball and not giving opposing guards easy ppoints won't get you all the way but it'll definitely help.

First UK reference in this thread was by a non UK fan.

Congrats to the Cards and my man, Ricky P!

I love walking into my office in Cincinnati and letting everyone know that there are 2 teams from Kentucky still dancing!

Congrats Cards.

Way to win with class.

There's your first reference. He may deny it but go back and read the UK/WVU game thread.

For the record I'm happy for the UofL fans. I'm not a fan but I take pride in the fact that both KY schools continue to have great success in the tournament.

That comment isn't what started the UK talk in the thread.
