Ace, you are absolutely correct. I was teaching school at Rose Hill during that time and that is exactly why he left. The 8th grade enrollment was full with kids waiting to get in. He did not want to mess up his AAU status, so he left, right before the All 'A' Tourny.

So if there wasn't a waiting list Bill would have been an 8th grader after starting the year in 9th in WV???

If it wasn't for Walker, Raceland might have very well been our representative to the All A!! He killed us in the regional final.:cry:

I guess I'm not being clear. After his 7th grade year he went back to WV for the start of the school year. To play in WV you have to be a Frosh, so they skipped him a grade to make it work. When he left there to go back to Rose Hill he wanted to be an 8th grader, but that was a no go. That was when he pulled out of RH and moved to Cincy to wait for next year. He completed one semester of HS before he made the move to NCH from what I can tell...

GT - For some reason, I think when he left RH, he went back to WV before going to NCH. I think that's when he went from 9th grade to 8th grade. I could be wrong but that's why I seem to recall.

Go back and read the thread that cshs81 referrence. Like I said then, some 3 years ago, Bill Walker was used.

 

This young man was jerked from pillar to post so an adult could win an AAU National Title.

Does this mean he can go to College now? I would think he will not get a diploma from NCH after only three years? He might not be far behind OJ to Oak Hill.
