Sweet 16 2015

I would not count out Doss if they make it from 6th region. They have lost 6 games this year, 2 Ballard, Trinity, Taylor, Dunbar(OT) and a bad loss to Christian County. The losses to Ballard, Trinity and Taylor all came without Tyler Jefferson. If you have had a chance to watch them with and without, he makes a huge difference. I am a little bias, I guess, but I am a realist at the same time. If they get by Desales, for the 4th time this year, they could cause some serious issues.

I stand corrected. They are still potentially and issue in the top half of the bracket. IMO

For whatever reason, I find that Williamsburg / Region 6 winner game to be the most intriguing (and tough to figure) 1st round tilt. If it is Williamsburg and Doss I will be very interested to see how that plays out. That game and Boyle Co. / LexCath are the only two games where there isn't a fairly clear-cut favorite in the game...in my opinion.

I think Doss would be a huge favorite over Williamsburg if they get by DeSales.

I was hoping for a Henderson/Taylor rematch, but I think Hopkinsville/Taylor Co is the game of the first round with LexCath/Boyle close behind.

LexCath beat Boyle by 18 ON Dec 29th. I think LexCath will be favored by more than you are expecting. I know the situation of the 4 games in 4 days, but that is how that Sweet 16 is set up as well. I think the game will be closer than 18, I hope the 12th region advances, but I saw this matchup in December and it was never close.

Doss is really good with Jefferson. Scary good

Hmmm.....Lincoln County beat Boyle County by 20 points on February 27.

I like lex cath and Boyle co as sleepers. Unfortunately they play each other in the first round. Lex cath has basically been playing state tournament type games for about two or three weeks now. They won the toughest (without question) district in the state and 6 of their last 9 games were against teams in the top 20 in the state. Boyle has a very very nice team as well. Winning at Lincoln in the region finals after getting blasted there two week ago is impressive. Hagen tyler is one of those kids that is capable of having a miraculous state tournament run. Elkins and Bell are great as well. The best first round game IMO.

Should be a great tournament.

I think that looks right to me.

Next tier would be (if they all get in):

Doss

Owensboro

Lexington Catholic

Hopkinsville

Boyle Co

I don't know enough about Bowling Green and Calloway Co to know if they should be in that group or the next one.

If Hoptown wins tonight, then they would be no lower than #2 or #3 .

I think Taylor Co would handle HopTown if that is the match-up...but I've certainly been wrong before.

Hard to have them over Ballard, KCC or Taylor Co.

I don't know why, but this seems like it will be a very entertaining field, especially if Doss and Ballard get in. I wish I could go next weekend.

I have no problem with Ballard, KCC in front of Hoptown, but disagree with Taylor Co.

Wouldn't be so sure on CovCath. Campbell County isn't the same team they played earlier in the season. It will be a close one.

Totally agree. I'm sure the coaching staff at CovCath will not allow the team to look past the Camels, despite the general consensus of fans (I heard several fans leaving BOKC last night saying "who do we play after Campbell Co?"). Campbell will be a very difficult hurdle.

That said, if the Colonels get by Campbell, a deep run could be in store. Confidence and experience are two understated qualities.

I would disagree with this. Taylor County deserves to be considered a top 3 team, but with the defense that Hoptown has been playing and their offensive weapons (4 guys avg double figures) I would expect this game to come down to the wire. The only opponent they have in common is Henderson County, and they both won on neutral floors, grant it in completely different manners.
