Campbell County 89 Scott 57 (10th Region Championship)

Any thread that mentions top coaches needs to make sure to mention Aric Russell. That's 3 regionals now and 2 in a row yet that's a name I rarely read. This region title should change that.

Not to take away from the game, but I never understood why fans from one school want to sit on the opposing side and hoot and holler? I understand there isn't assigned seating but it causes problems and I just don't get it.

I AGREE!!! If it was a CC fan, I'm sorry it happened. I also don't like adult fans yelling derogatory things right at other players. Not sure why adults don't show common courtesy at games. IT'S HIGH SCHOOL PEOPLE!!

Two more takeaways from the game.

I was pleased to rectify a grave injustice by hooking Can'tcoach's spouse up with some popcorn. The stars are aligned once again.

Nice to sit with PC coach Keaton Belcher for much of the game. Pleasant young man. Kind of tall.

Good luck to the Camels next week.:thumb:

Coach also has some quality assistants, including a new guy this year who has been trying to catch lightning in a bottle for years as he jumped from school to school to try and get in on a title team. He finally did it this year! Congrats! :thumb:

Not sure what assistant you are talking about. Two came from Pendelton and pretty sure they have been there for several years and the others have been at Campbell the entire time.

Taking a positive comment about Coach Russell and turning it into a passive-aggressive shot at an assistant? Impressive.

Congrats to Campbell County! So happy for these kids!

Campbell County just won back-to-back Regional Championships for the first time in the history of the school.

All is already good.

That's nice. But a state title would be even nicer! We lost in first round last year. Let's get further. Hungry Camel as opposed to ... :deadhorse:

Ohmer looked REALLY good last night. Anyone have stats?

How true. He get's very little credit. Back-to-back Regional Titles with a school that has little basketball success historically. Impressive. And to take the Newport team to state that he did with the talent he had there - probably even more impressive. If you watched any of the three teams play - they all turned it on at tournament time. Maybe he knows how to get kids motivated when it matters!!!!!

The entire Camels team played well, however...... I have to send out KUDOS to Blake Losey.....I'm sure it went unnoticed by most, but Losey's injury from the Pendleton game was much worse than most know. He had to get INTENSE treatments Tuesday morning, then again Tuesday afternoon to hopefully give him the ability to play at all Tuesday night. Blake's ability to play was pretty much a game time decision.......Way to grit it out and give it all you got Blake....... Kudos to You :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Not 100% sure, but I believe this is the first ever Back-to-Back Regional Basketball Championships ever at CCHS. There was a team back in the early '60's that had some ballers and I believe won a regional then, but I do not believe it was back to back.....

Should be an interesting matchup with the blue boys....
