March 9, 201511 yr Cut Keisel and tendered the loose change in the secondary. So, not much movement. Now Worilds is finding fewer and fewer suitors. They'll have to make some changes to have enough room to re-sign him. Should be interesting. Can't believe they haven't cut Cam Thomas yet. Frees 2mil when they do. They have around 7 or 8 million to spend with.
March 9, 201511 yr They have around 7 or 8 million to spend with. No they don't. They're around 2 mil right now without any other moves.
March 10, 201511 yr Why would San Fran want Dalton? Just to have a stop gap qb for this year if they trade Kaep and then release Dalton after this season unless he somehow he ended up doing good for them. That's why though I said the Bengals also would have to throw in a draft pick or even two for him too.

March 10, 201511 yr No they don't. They're around 2 mil right now without any other moves. Look NFL salary cap thread and click the link. It says 7.9 before they cut #99 .
March 10, 201511 yr Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 42s43 seconds ago After a hard push from #Seahawks (and #Raiders and #Broncos ) TE Julius Thomas plans to sign with the #Jaguars tomorrow. Huge get. Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
March 10, 201511 yr Nothing to do with FA but I like this tweet Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 8s8 seconds ago Hear the same thing about #Jaguars in FA as I did while they searched for coaches: Things have changed. People want to go there now.

March 10, 201511 yr But why? No state taxes. Great weather. Their defense was solid last year. If they could add a couple of solid pieces on offense and Bortles improves (big if) they could work their way into the middle to top half of the AFC in the next couple of years.

March 10, 201511 yr But why? To make it quick and less than 4 pages, Jacksonville as of the past 10 years has been a joke of a franchise. As a fan it's been awful. Well ever since the owner took over (Shad Khan) 3 years ago, he has given us Jags fan hope. The GM ( David Caldwell) has done a excellent job slowly getting the players. Of course my big question mark on this team is the HC (Gus Bradley), but he's a players coach which helps. They have been committed to building their team through the draft, exactly the way Seattle did. Not saying they are the next Seahawks, but they are copying their recipe. Last year they have 8 starters on offense that was a rookie or 2nd year player. They have the youngest roster in the NFL and the arrow seems to be pointing up. In the end none of that matters if Bortles doesn't pan out. He showed flashes this year but also had a high amount of rookie mistake, which were to be expected with so many other young players around him.
March 10, 201511 yr I think they paid way too much for Thomas. Just my .02. They had too. Not that easy to attract that many big free agent names.
March 10, 201511 yr They had too. Not that easy to attract that many big free agent names. He's making Gronk money. He ain't Gronk.
March 10, 201511 yr He's making Gronk money. He ain't Gronk. No doubt about it, but he gives Jacksonville something they need. Something reliable for Bortles and a red zone threat.
