LRCW Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Does anyone have any experience using this product? I was thinking about buying it for my Iphone 6 plus.
PurplePride92 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I'm not sure of your question. Gorilla Glass is in every iPhone 6. Are you talking about a particular phone case or protective cover?

I didn't realize that. One of the docs here in the ER was showing me his Iphone6, and it had a gorilla glass cover over his regular glass on hte Iphone. He said it was shatterproof? Is ths glass on the Iphone6 supposed to be shatter proof?

I know for a fact that Gorilla Glass is in the iPhone 6 but I am foggy on the construction of it. The iPhone does claim it to be shatterproof and to date this iPhone seems more durable than its predecessors. Post a picture of his phone and I can tell you for sure what he has going on.

LRCW Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 I'm basically trying to get away from having to have a case for my Iphone if I can.
TheDeuce Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I had one of those glass screen covers and it worked nicely. Unfortunately, the guy didn't put it on very well, so it started coming up on one corner and I had to pull it off. The glass screen covers are much better, IMO. They don't give you that filmy look on your screen.

GrizzlyAdams Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Do you have an Iphone 6? If so, is it really needed if it already has Gorilla glass on it? Get a tempered glass screen protector. The good ones run from 20-30 bucks but it will be the best investment you'll have on a phone.
rjs4470 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I've heard stories about the glass screen protectors shattering during a drop while the Iphone screen remained in tact. I have installed glass screen protectors (not gorilla glass) on the two ipads in my house, and prefer them to plastic film protectors. The feel is much better as the plastic films can be sticky feeling, and eventually start to peel up. That being said, I've heard that screen protectors are really unnecessary as the Iphone screen is super tough, and unless you carry your phone in your pocket with keys and change, the chances of scratching your phone are slim. I've also heard that with the Iphone 6's curved screen, glass screen protectors will not cover the whole screen, leaving a thin line all the way around the phone. I will say, if you do get one, make sure you follow instructions and ensure the screen is dust free when installing. The tiniest of dust will create bubbles which look terrible, and if that dust gets stuck to the adhesive of the screen protector, removing it is difficult, which means your either stuck with bubbles, or you have to buy a new screen protector. I learned this the hard way.

rjs4470 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 iPhones do not come with "gorilla" glass for those wondering. What is it made of? Everything I've seen and heard was that Gorilla glass has been on every Iphone produced. I do know they were considering switching to Sapphire glass for the 6, but I thought they stuck with Gorilla.
LRCW Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 iPhones do not come with "gorilla" glass for those wondering. So what is on the Iphone 6?
born2reign Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I have Gorrilla Glass on my 6+. As long as it is applied correctly so tha it doesn't come up prematurely, it is awesome! I have dropped my phone and had my keys in my pocket ith the phone. I have not had any scratches or cracks.
Jumper_Dad Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 iPhones do not come with "gorilla" glass for those wondering. How Corning won Apple back and built the strongest Gorilla Glass yet | Cult of Mac I think it is the glass that is installed in all iPhones
