Thats what I am curious about, I may be bias, but I think they should at LEAST be 25th. They beat the #3 team, and some other really good teams as well.

 

 

 

Bias, or not, anybody who watches HSB, knows that BW should be top 10...As far as I'm concerned, Ryle should also be in the top 25. But hey, we are in N.KY after all.

Any opinions on the top teams? Trinity, Eastern, PRP, Lex Cath, Paul Dunbar, Beechwood are all pretty solid right now. St. X is there as well. LCA might be a little down but definately aren't out. Owensboro Catholic? All these teams have had big wins, and they have also had some losses to each other as well. Could make for some wild regional matchups.

The National High School Baseball Coaches Association had Lafaeytte HS in Lexington ranked #39 in the nation in the preseason of 2005. They had this to say about them..

 

39. Lafayette HS, Lexington, Kent. (34-7). Kentucky-bound RHP/SS Chaz Roe (7-1, 1.04; .383-6-44) is the stateÕs top prospect and has plenty of support as the Generals return six starters and their entire pitching staff from a year ago, when they finished second in the state. C Zack Upton (.419-3-38) is the teamÕs top hitter.

That must be old. The KHSAA has Lafayette as 18-9. Plus, there is no way they could have played 41 games at this point in the season. You are only allowed 30 with 3 tournaments max (4 games in a tournament max). That means they can only play 36 games max with three 4 game tournaments.

How in the world is Male 7th?

Male 25 - 3....Their only loss to a KY team was Louisville Eastern.....you think they should be higher or lower?

I don't know much about the other teams, but I think that CovCath should be in there. While you can't say "well, team A beat team B so team A is better" I think that they should at least get in for beating the #8 team and All A State Champs.

I think a top 25 poll is just a guide of how the teams are playing. Team A might be a top five team with Pitcher A on the mound, but drop to a top 15 team with Pitcher B and C and even lower after that.

 

Or Team B can compete with anyone in the State with their Ace on the mound, but drop off rapidly with any other pitcher.

 

Baseball is a much different sport than the others because of the changing of pitchers game to game.
