I am talking about both. Just like all the other teams in the region would have to do. When MoCo had the region at thier place this is what they did. It should be no different at Mason Co.

Since they have no home court advantage it shouldn't hurt them to sit on the visiting bench. lol

Scott was the home team on the scoreboard and sat on the home team bench last night despite Campbell hosting. It's the way it should be. Benches should follow the tourney setup no matter who is hosting.

Technically, Campbell County Middle School is a neutral site, and the 37th district teams rotate who actually hosts/works the tournament. Silver Grove was actually the "host" this year.

IMO it would be hard to get all Mason County fans to move to the other side of the gym, especially because some of them have sat in the same seat for years. I also think that Mason County should always sit on the home side bench due to the fact that their cheering section will most likely be behind that bench the whole tournament.

Agreed. It just seems to create unnecessary confusion and potential for conflicts. For example, where Mason's student section typically sits. If I recall correctly it been right behind their bench.

Seems to me that anyone insistent on this is just trying to find any petty reason for Mason's (or any other host team's) success other than giving credit to their team.

 

By the way, this comes from Montgomery County graduate who has seen the Royals beat the Indians more times than I can count. Including in the region final at Mason County my senior year.

I know some teams were originally supposed to be sitting on the home bench because they were on the top of the bracket, but said they would rather sit on the away bench to get away from the cheering section directly behind the bench. IMO this is a good idea because that could cause conflict for a lot of people.

I don't think there's any advantage or disadvantage to where either team sits. I understand the argument because one is the home bench and one is the visitor's bench and you should follow the setup of the tournament but, at the same time I think it's all just any kind of attempt to make Mason County uncomfortable because they just happen to have the absolute best venue for the 10th region tournament. I will add though that where the student section is and where particular people sit should never be a factor and I don't think it would be. As for myself if I'm not calling an Augusta game from scorer's table #2 I want to be sitting at half court on the opposite side. Gotta love the unobstructed view of the floor.
