Kidwell Out as Coach at Russell

Featured Replies

I would be surprised if there is not some type of teaching position to go along with the coaching position. I think it would be hard to find the right person without a teaching position.

I agree, which means they would have to "create" one or have someone leave the school system.

I'm hearing that former Russell Assistant Coach Jim Conway is the frontrunner.:idunno:

That's not who I heard.

It's the name I heard, if Humphrey turns it down. But hey, you probably have better sources there than I do at this point. Lol:cool:

If Conway is the selection and he is permitted to ask, I imagine he would want want Coach Kidwell on staff. But, the higher ups may also want to make a clean break from the old staff. I have heard several names mentioned, if Humphrey can't be lured away from his job. I just can't imagine Scott wanting to enter that hornet's nest though.

I don't see anyway he would take that job. He and his family love it here. He has full support of the administration. I really respect Coach H. and would hate to loose him.

No way. Going from GRC to Russell = Step back.

More like a leap instead of a step .

I can't think of a single reason he'd go to Russell other than his relationship with AD Sparks. I can't see it happening.

I agree it is kinda a step backwards but I do believe the possibilities of building a team and winning the region would be easier in the 16th

True. It is probably the weakest region in the state when it comes to boys teams.

Has a time table been established for hiring a new coach? Hopefully the brass will wait until after the state tournament is over to see if any top assistants or established head coaches are interested in the position. I'm interested to see how the hire plays out.
