Saint Patrick played hard, just didn't have enough weapons.

Papa had to check out at halftime, sick wife at home.

 

St. Patrick didn't back down at all from what I saw. Hung tough for a good while; Mason County press started to bother the Saints after a while. As BBI said, not enough weapons to deal with what the Royals threw at them. At least I got to see a Dorian Henry tomahawk early on.

Dorian Henry led Mason County with 18 points. Ryan Johnson had 16 & Pig Williams 14. Ten Royals scored in all.

Andrew Sticklen scored 17 points in his final high school game to lead the Saints. Brennan Bauer chipped in with 15.

Is Sticklen going to play college ball anywhere?

^ Not sure. I know he had some schools looking at him, but I haven't heard anything of late.

I hate to see Andrew go. He was kind of my Brossart connection at St. Patrick.

 

His daddy, James "Stumpy" Sticklen was a good friend and worked a lot of basketball games in our SyDome.

Andrew Sticklen scored 17 points in his final high school game to lead the Saints. Brennan Bauer chipped in with 15.

 

Bauer was having a nice game when he went out in the first half with three fouls, than hit a 3 early in the third quarter. Didn't get to hear anything else.

For those of you that were in attendance for the game, did you see anything from the Mason County Student Section that you thought was "rude or classless"? Because there have been St. Pat adults get on social media and say some pretty mean and untrue things about the Mason County students.

Not sure what St.pat parents said on social media but I did think the student section went after a kid that used to go to Mason a bit too much. Started with normal air ball chants that most students do that they continued to chant the whole game, progressed to entire section yelling "you still suck" whenever he missed or had a turnover. Other things were yelled by individuals but as a section that's all I could make out. Rough night for the kid.

If that's the case that isn't very classy. Feel for the kid. He's getting a chance to play somewhere.

But the thing is this same kid is friends with a lot of people in the cheering section and even said that he doesn't understand why the St. Pat fans were getting mad and upset because that's what cheering sections are for and they shouldn't take it to heart.

The players brother was apart of the student section and was laughing with the students after game. But from what I've seen on social media the St. Pat adults are being far more rude towards the Mason County kids when it really wasn't bad at all.

From what I have heard and I also don't have a dog in this hunt and was not at the game was how the student section behaved in the girls game and started cheering loudly when st Patrick lady saints scored their first points. I think I understood the score was like 30-3. That is classless and embarrassing in my book.
