The players brother was apart of the student section and was laughing with the students after game. But from what I've seen on social media the St. Pat adults are being far more rude towards the Mason County kids when it really wasn't bad at all.

 

What exactly was said by St. Pats fans? Not denying that it happened, just can't find it myself. I was at the boys game and didn't see anything too extreme from Mason's students, but I know from experience that sometimes when you're a bit closer to them you can hear some pretty unsettling things.

From what I have heard and I also don't have a dog in this hunt and was not at the game was how the student section behaved in the girls game and started cheering loudly when st Patrick lady saints scored their first points. I think I understood the score was like 30-3. That is classless and embarrassing in my book.

 

It wasn't only the Mason Co students cheering, the entire gym cheered. I mean would they rather everyone boo them because they did score?

Not sure what St.pat parents said on social media but I did think the student section went after a kid that used to go to Mason a bit too much. Started with normal air ball chants that most students do that they continued to chant the whole game, progressed to entire section yelling "you still suck" whenever he missed or had a turnover. Other things were yelled by individuals but as a section that's all I could make out. Rough night for the kid.

 

IMO, the Mason student section as a whole has been and remains classless. They taunted my son Brent Bach for 2 years mercilessly but what they didn't understand was he used it as motivation and got his revenge via the scoreboard! I would suggest anyone who is their victim do the same. It seems to quiet them rather quickly.

Well I wasn't there but what I can tell you is taunting is a part of the game. I played on championship teams in a couple of sports. Getting heckled can go to far if it's racist in any way. If your gonna play sports then being mentally tough seperates the weak from the strong.

 

Besides st pat had a nice year and had a nice player they are getting better by that coach and it's nice to see a small school play with some toughness and fearlessness. Hopefully Taylor will hang in there a couple of years and keep them improving. That's what it's about. Mason is a tough draw. Congrats to st pat on improving
