Sends the wrong message. As I've gotten older I've learned that when I used the n word as a term of endearment or in a flippant manner I sound pretty stupid. I still use it from time to time depending on who I am around and especially when I am alone in my car listening to music. I'm not proud of it but I do dumb stuff and live a hypocritical life. I know right from wrong though. Sometimes wrong is fun and feels good. It doesn't mean I don't have common sense.

Many on here have given reasons...I guess you don't think they are plausible. A few of us have heard the word before but did not know the meaning until now. My guess is that describes her too. She could have been thinking "jiggy" or "jitterbug" or something like that and that word came out. She was not commenting on any person but was commenting on music. I assume you don't believe her. I do when she says she was not familiar with the word. I just don't see it as even remotely possible that she would ON THE AIR purposely use the word if she knew it was offensive...makes no sense.

I really don't care what black people call one another. It all depends on context I guess. If two really good friends want to call each other the N word, that is their business. A lot of white people take issue with the attitude of "I can say this but you cannot". Sometimes it can get real confusing to white people what you can say and what you cannot. Also, some, not all, but some people (black and white) seem to be looking for someone to slip up so they can hammer them.

 

I think it was pretty clear in looking at the clip that this woman had no malice at heart whatsoever and simply made a mistake. I see no plausible explanation as to why she would do this with malice. Again, it makes no sense.
