February 19, 201511 yr Author Oh wow! People have nothing better to do that to get all whiny about others grammar and spelling. Glad you have something to do besides something constructive. I was going to post this before, but don't people have better things to do that to sit around correcting others? But I guess that is expected here this days. I'm totally willing to be that guy. It is, after all, my job. And my quest hopefully has a larger benefit.

February 19, 201511 yr Interesting. While in Miami I ate at several nice Italian restaurants. At one, when the waiter asked me what I wanted on my salad, I piped up, I-talian! He merely smiled and said, "Nice choice." As soon as he left a woman sitting at the next table over leans over and says, "Pardon the intrusion, and I hope you don't take offense, but the proper pronuciation of the word Italian is It-alian. Pronouncing it I-talian stamps you as an outsider and is an insult to this fine restaurant." I apologized and admitted to being an outsider and thanked her (reluctantly) for pointing that out to me. Having pronounced the word I-talian for the best part of fifty years, you would think that someone might have pointed that out to me before now. Makes sense - Italy is pronounced It-aly and not I-taly. You learn something new everyday. Oh, Man. The one time you needed to have RTS with you ... I'd pay good money to see somebody correct him like that. :thumb:
