Trinity actually. I understand they came back with a nice win against Owensboro but a loss is a loss. Right?

GRC was going through a tough team transition during the Mason and Scott County games.

That was no anomaly against LCA. That was GRC being GRC.

That was GRC losing by double figures two games in a row. They came back and played a real good game against Lex Christian.

That is taking nothing away from the great teams of Mason County and Scott County. They defeated us fair and square.

Lafayette was rewarded and with Trinity defeating Owensboro the way they did helped them a ton. Do you think Trinity isn't a top 5 team even though they lost to Lafayette? They have played what some say is the toughest schedule in the state. Do you think they aren't a top 5 team in the state?

I would argue that T should be #1 in the state but when ranking teams should we just look over a loss? Should a win over a top 10 team overshadow a loss to an unranked team? I feel like it is unfair to the rest of the teams.Maybe I'm just use to other polls where when you lose, you drop in the rankings.

We are not like other polls and never will be.

I'll start.

I think Central is capable of winning the 7th Region and I am thinking no one will want to see them in March if Central makes it to the 7th Region tournament.

Wayne County is coming, 12th Region. They are coming for their third straight regional title. Can anyone stop them?

The 11th Region is ridiculous. Ridiculous. The 43 District is a must follow district tournament. 3 of the 5 teams are deservedly in the Top 20.

The Catholics are all bunched up again this week.

Despite Trinity's loss to Lafayette I think 2-4 are interchangeable. Ballard is without a doubt #1. They've earned it.

Central has a good team but I do not think they can beat Trinity and Ballard in consecutive games.

They may not have to if Ballard and Trinity have to face each other.

Warren Central and Bowling Green are better then at least 4-5 of the teams listed.... Warren Central has won 16 out of their last 17 games with an average margin of victory over 20 points ppg. I don't understand the reason for the consistent overranking IMO of some teams, the under ranking of others...

Neither team has any signature wins. When given an opportunity to prove how good they were they lost.

I can see your point, but we will revisit this during the State Playoffs when one of these teams makes it to the Semi Final Game AGAIN.

Means little when it comes to rankings. The draw has more to do with who makes the semifinals than how they should be ranked with the top teams in the state. BG was not one of the top 4 teams in the state last year just because they made the state semis.

If Taylor County and Henderson County make the Sweet 16 one of those two teams won't make the state semis and they'll still both be one of the top 5 teams in the state.

Trinity, Ballard, Central and Manual can't all make the Sweet 16 and all 4 are amongst the top 12 teams in the state.

LexCath, Dunbar, LCA and Lafayette can't even all make their region tournament yet all are arguably 4 of the top 20-25 teams in the state.

Wayne County, Lincoln County, Boyle County and Southwestern can't all make the Sweet 16 and are amongst the top 25 teams in the state.

CovCath, NCC, Dixie Heights, Holmes and Boone County are all in the top 30 in the state most likely and all of them can't make the Sweet 16.

Thanks for raining on everyone's parade. :lol2:

I have a hard time believing that they`re 20 teams better in the state than Oldham Co.. Maybe I caught them on a good day, but I left very impressed.

I have to agree with you, DJ. I've seen a lot of highly-regarded teams this year, and I think Oldham definitely belongs in this poll. They already appear in others. They may get a chance to validate this; they are the favorites to win the 8th, and if they do, that could put them in a Sweet 16 first round matchup with Owensboro, ranked #11 in this poll.

Of course, polls don't win games (or lose them). Just something to talk about....
